Daily Crossword - white loading screen

I am about to give up on doing the daily crossword on my Android phone. I click to play the game below the scores. Then I click to play above the ad. Then I get a white screen that says loading. I never get to the date of the puzzle to play UNLESS I clear my cache and dump my cookies. Why?

I'd rather play 5 Roll, but don't earn points for that.
