Nicole @SummerIsTooHOT . I was busy trying to stay dry for a couple of days. I don't know where that continuous wet weather came from, but I didn't like it. I was glad to see the sun and get out to play some tennis today.๐พ

๐ฆ Any plans for Thanksgiving?
Me: Nope, NOT "feeling" it this year. Maybe NEXT year. Will "probably" find some movies to binge on.
My daughter "usually" spends holidays with her friends and/or extended family. More "social" than I am at the moment.

I am with you Nicole. I, too, am not "feeling" the holidays this year. My son & I will have a quiet dinner together. I do not plan to decorate for Christmas. I am hoping that my grandson will come home from college for a visit. Busy but sad. I will be leaving the home that I raised my sons in and love, will be leaving the graves of my husband and son behind. I am going through mixed emotions right now. Something Dr. Wolfelt said in the AARP presentation was "Recognize our vulnerabilities, Mind our broken hearts." It continues to be a struggle. Love you โฅ๏ธ

Hi Cadee, I share you thoughts and this year will be different. Nothing at my house and I'll travel to see three of my kids on Friday. I've also been preparing to sell my house. Its a little easier since none of my kids lived here. It was our 8th house but lived in it for 7 years. My wife did pass her though. I'm definitely going to stay busy and work on getting ready to list in January. Do you have to move or are you ready? For me, I'm ready as my life needs to move on. I like the house but oh man is it sad for me to be here. It feels like to good memories stopped on 5/29 this year. It has been hard for my kids to visit too and I'm hoping that a new place will be more welcoming and less sad for them. I too hope your grandson visits during the holidays.
Take care this week and lets all move forward slowly...Bill

Bill @BillH490171 ,
I'm sorry you feel such sadness in your home. Wishing you safe travels for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyable times with your kids. When you get back, it will be time to get to work if you go forward with your plan to sell your house. It seems nothing that we are going through is easy.

Marcy, thanks and I'm certainly gearing up for the move effort. In fact, I have three dish boxes from when I moved from PA to TN to VA over the last 16 years so who knows what's in them. I'll take most of December to sort and conquer.
Happy Thanksgiving to each of you, Bill

Thank you Bill for responding. I know what you mean by memories. My husband was in Hospice Care here for 7 months and sleeping in that room reminds me of the pain and sorrow every night. I have a brother, sister-in-law, grandson and ex-daughter-in-law that I am close with in Idaho. My son is moving with me into his new home. I am sad that the homeless have taken over my beautiful community. This area ,unlike others, has become a HAVEN for the homeless with continued support from our politicians at the expense of the taxpayers. No one is safe here ESPECIALLY the elderly. My 80 year old neighbor was killed and they tried to burn her body. He has never been caught. I MUST MOVE. Sounds like I live in the slums, but homes here sell for a lot of money. Wishing you Happy Holidays! Moving is a LOT OF WORK. HANG IN THERE Bill.

Hello to all. i have been BUSY preparing my home to be sold. Had to replace my gas meter!!! which meant I had to tear out the hedges around it. Having a tree trimmed in the front yard, pool repairs, designed and ordered my husband's grave stone, and arranging to have extra furniture removed. I discovered that ALL the charities WILL NOT come and pick up the furniture and expect me to deliver it to them. (That is not happening.) My rheumatologist sent me 15 pages of paperwork to complete before my appointment. I called to schedule my cataract/glaucoma surgery sooner as I will be moving out of state soon. Busy, Busy, Busy In a way I am thankful that I have so much to do to occupy my mind and to help me not be overwhelmed with sadness through Thanksgiving, my 62nd. anniversary and Christmas. Wishing good thoughts to everyone and hoping that your holidays are peaceful. โค๏ธ

Marcy @MarcyW882921 and Cadee @Cadee2719 .
Flu Shot went well and so did Pnemonia. ๐๐๐
Concerned about my COVID this Thursday at CVS Pharmacy as they DO NOT have Moderna, only Pfizer. ๐ญ
I ALWAYS did Moderna.
Did any of you MIX brands and/or got Pfizer? ๐ค
HATE those needles but like WE always say, got to take care of ourselves. ๐
Cadee and Jonibee @jonibee , thanks for updates on YOUR medical issues. Now to hope Thursday goes well.๐ So MANY "horror" stories about Pfizer. ๐ฑ
Thanks guys....

Nicole @SummerIsTooHOT ,
I am not fond of needles either! I actually sought out Pfizer for my vaccine and it was offered at my pharmacy. I have not mixed brands (although I know they say it is fine to do). I had a small amount of arm soreness and that was it. I did all of my normal activities without any problem.

You have to have patience for all that you have been through. I'm glad you are following up with the cemetery regarding the grave stone. This matter is very important to you and is needed for closure and peace of mind.
Finding out about the state rules for selling your house will likely save you time and aggravation in the days ahead. That will be one more thing you can check off the list.
Keep those steps going forward!

Thanks I make a list each day of all the things that I must accomplish, other wise I know I would forget. ๐ My brother is very concerned about me pacing myself and protecting my health so I make certain to take breaks in between each task. What all this activity is accomplishing is my mind is occupied with tasks and not sad thoughts. My son always wanted to move to Idaho to fish and hunt and I tell him that he is coming with me in my heart and mind. My husband will ALWAYS be a part of my life. November 25 we would have been married 62 years!

Nicole @SummerIsTooHOT ...Wow that's great to have a welcome mat out for us in Idaho! I've never been. How about you? I kind of like driving but I do get tired of sitting for hours on end. Maybe we can find a train.

YOU make me smile each day. Love you guys. Had to have my gas meter replaced yesterday. There was a leak so now I have a brand new gas meter! The people buying my home are going to have EVERYTHING new. I am contacting a realtor today to get an appraisal and to find out what the state REQUIRES me to have before selling. In California they have their RULES and they MUST be followed. I hope that the home I buy is in such good shape as mine is. I contacted the cemetery yesterday asking what is taking so long to get the proof of the grave stone design. I want this installed before I leave. Once my son removes all his "stuff" from my home and garage I can show my home. One step at a time..........Patience is a virtue.

Luv you,

You made it through a very difficult week and did it in your own way. The feelings won't disappear, but you live on with all of your fond memories.
Now you are expressing excitement about the changes on your horizon. You have put all of the repair work in on your current home so that leaves the packing to do. It's great that your son has sold his home and has a closing on his new home. You made the trip to Idaho and found three potential communities for you and that's terrific. You have a doctor's appointment scheduled in December and soon you will be near your brother in a place where you will feel safe again.
I am so happy for you and impressed with all that you have accomplished!๐๐

I received this from the Hospice site that my husband had before he passed and it's worth sharing ..Poetry by someone who had lost a love one....:"Grief is like a river" by Cynthis G Kelly . I found it very meaningful....
"My Grief is like a river....I have to let it flow...But i myself determine..Just where the banks will go..Some days the current takes me..In waves of guilt and pain, But there are always quiet pools..Where I can rest again. I crash on rocks of anger..My faith seems faint indeed, But there are other swimmers..Who know what I need. Are loving hands to hold me..When waters are too swift, And someone kind to listen..When I seem to drift. Grief's river is a process..Of relinquishing the past, By swimming in Hope's channels..I'll reach the shore at last...
Cynthia G. Kelly
