Help and signs from loved one
I know my husband helps me often from Heaven. I was very dependent on him, but I know he is helping me because I am doing all the things I need to do and handling it all well. My family and friends are in awe of how well I am managing the day to day things you have to do.
As for signs, I was once going to put on a Rod Stewart CD but then remembered it had a scratch on it. My husband was with me when I bought it years ago - my first CD ever. But I realized it was damaged, so I put the radio on and on it was playing a Rod Stewart song. I firmly believe it was a sign.

Nicole @SummerIsTooHOT ,
Yesterday morning at tennis a dragonfly landed on my racket frame and stayed there for about a minute and a half and last night while taking out the trash I saw a falling star. I have never experienced the dragonfly thing before! I feel like things are changing and there are signs being sent.

This is baffling to me - cause I hear others talk about this -
Is it because that I am not listening or did not listen that I don’t get this or ever have and believe me, I tried during the early years.
We were not only husband and wife for almost 40 years - we actually worked together for over 30 of those years. So for much of the time we were together 24/7 - then I was his only caregiver for the last year -
We did have that last year to talk over the up and coming changes because we knew the end result - I was depressed to think about it - but he was almost excited to learn about what was on the other side. That was just him - He did promise me some answers but I never received any.
He is always with me cause he is a part of me. He died in 2006.

A book to read to answer some of your questions is "The Love Never Ends" (Messages from the other side ) by Sunny Dawn Johnson ..We were married 63 years . Signs are left that we all talk of dimes, feathers, red cardinals etc. things disappearing and reappeariing, silent phone calls rings but no one is on other end, songs that were favorites playing at a time you need them,,,a feeling of presence in the room and sometimes the room feels chilled ..Whether or not these are what they seem it's important to me to Believe just as we believe in a higher authority but don't see him...Happy memories along with not so happy memories but I choose the meaningful ones..I try to believe his guicance helps me make the right decisions in everyday life like what would Tom do..I hope this has been helpful to you and believing that we will meet again in the hereafter sustains me...

After 18 years since his death- nothing / nada - but maybe that’s because after a while I perhaps stopped looking and listening -
I am surrounded by the little bit of his work that is remaining in our home but have changed my living environment only slightly. He did leave me a list of “Things To Do” and I completed them years ago.
Perhapa it was that in the beginning I not only had to deal with the unbearable grief of his death - I also had to figure out how to support myself. I had to find and create an income stream from his work, of which there was no more to come, and our investments..
I was also busy taking care of a very physically & mentally ill mother - finding a place for her to live was no easy task.
With his death, our social network also left - no more married couples stayed in the realm of friendship after a while. The travels all left with him too - I was not interested in putting myself out there for new travels, making other friends or a new mate -
I am content to be an introvert -
So I guess, LIFE got in the way of listening or experiencing a link to him.
I envy you and your forward looking life.
Thank You

Reading about your Grandma I'm reminded of an incident. While approaching the house of a friend, I passed the mailbox. And a very old woman in a kerchief and long cotton skirt taking mail from the box. I said Hi as I had never seen her before. She nodded and said she had to get her mail. I went into the house and asked my friend who the woman was. A puzzled frown crossed her brow. Did she wear a kerchief and long skirt? I nodded, yes. She said it sounded like her grandmother who she spotted occasionally. She had been dead for many years!

I was being "lazy" about posting this Marcy @MarcyW882921 , but I must say the WIND has been VISITING the huge tree outside my window THIS WEEK.
Hmmm, just realized (this moment) I AM FINALLY CALM today. Aha, IF I had been "paying attention" THIS WEEK = my rough days would not have happened. 🙄
As I had shared, it reminds me of a HAPPY childhood memory - sitting in my tree (yes, mine/lol 🤣😂) and reading and napping.
On WINDY DAYS, never fell out. 💃💃💃
So thank you whomever (someone who luvs me and knows the week I have had). 💙
Lesson learn't - pay attention to my surroundings. Loved ones will be trying to soothe us..... 👍

Nicole @SummerIsTooHOT,
I'm so glad you posted this. If we are mindful, grateful, and in the moment it can have profound effects on our emotional and physical being. Someone was speaking with you this week, taking you back to those happy times, and bringing you a sense of calm. That is so great!

So today was one of my husband's first anniversaries of his passing. On the way back home from my bereavement group meeting that was a bit emotional for me, I stopped at a charity to drop off some donations. As the guy was writing my receipt, he said "I hope you don't mind me being so bold, but you are a beautiful woman." This evening I was returning from my husband's service and it was raining. A beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky and I have not seen one this whole past year that my husband has been gone!
I do believe both of these things were signs from him on a day that he knew would be particularly difficult for me.✏

When we traveled, I always wondered why he
would get gas at only a half a tank. Wednesday
I found out why. A huge car crash in Ky derailed
traffic for nearly two hours. Although I didn’t run
out of gas, I finally figured out why he did that.
So he would never have to worry about it. First
thing I did after we started moving was to get gas.
And I followed his mantra the rest of the way home.
I love that I’m still learning from him even after his
death 💜

Marcy, what a wonderful experience. I'm glad that you had so much positive reinforcement. The rainbow is reminding all of us that we are part of a longer natural world that we love and in turn nature loves us, sometimes at specific moments like yours. I am always smiling when I see the Bluebird couple feeding their young on my deck rail or seeing the ground hog lounging around in my backyard. These sightings make you realize that we are part of a greater good. On the compliment, I am thrilled that happened to you. Too often when we are grieving, we show the scars of the caregiver, griever, etc. I know. As I posted a while back, I took a selfie and was surprised how I aged. At first, I was depressed, but then I realized I will smile, be outgoing and not worry about the lines, etc. Also, a long-distance shot helps in my case. All kidding aside, I am sure you are a beautiful woman inside and out. I'm glad someone reminded you of that. Unfortunately, we live in a world of superficial beauty and youth. We just have to be happy with ourselves and try to make the most of each day. My condolences on your first anniversary. I just had my 2-year anniversary. I can say I feel better in the second year. Not sure why, but probably because I have become more self-confident and made a new network of friends. I wish you all the best. You deserve it. Your friend, Sue

Many years ago my late husband and I were walking on the beach and a woman picked up a penny that was on the sand, as she did so she looked up and said "Thank you Frank" we asked her why she said that. Her reply was every time I pick up a penny I know Frank sent it from Heaven. I recently lost the love of my life, my dear husband and since then I've found a few pennies myself in some unlikely places. As much as I miss him with all my heart I know he's at peace having suffered from cancer for 8 long years. I miss him with every fiber of my being and I'm trying to go on without him. The loss sometimes take my breath away. Thank you for your stories they have helped to read what others have gone and still going through.

@bk11902161 Your post brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's suffering and passing. It seems you were meant to be with your husband to share the penny moment because now the pennies you find have a special meaning. Remember your walk on the beach with the love of your life and thank him for sending a sign and watching over you.

@bk11902161 I am sorry for the loss of your dear husband. My husband died of colon cancer in just ten months. All of it is excruciatingly painful. I do believe in signs from our loved ones and those pennys are definitely from him. As sad as it is, you will, in due time smile every time you pick one up. Thinking of you on this journey no one wants to take. Thanks for sharing 💜🙏

Nicole @SummerIsTooHOT , I took a break to go to the Japanese Garden today. I saw more butterflies than I have ever seen when I have visited. To me they are signs of life, growth, spirituality, and being free. They are all things to think about and carry with me on this journey.
