๐ฅ ABOUT OUR ONLINE "GRIEF & LOSS" SUPPORT GROUP!!! Link at bottom.
* Group Member Cadee said this *
SHARING thoughts on caring for oneself, making doctor appointments (and the difficulty in doing so), discussing relocating, dealing with finances and life's decisions are all important issues to discuss. These are all a part of being alone and having to make big decisions for ourselves (perhaps for the very first time). Once one "accepts" the reality of being alone, it is difficult to have to make these decisions for ourselves ALONE. Hearing how others do it and have done it has been extremely helpful to me. Accepting the loss is NOT the end of this journey. Listening to tapes and reading books does not always offer the personal touch needed at times. Having someone make us smile and knowing there are people out there that truly do care about you is a gift.

Hello Nicole,
I'm hanging in there one day at a time. His adult kids came this past weekend to get some of his things I thought they should have of his.
I'm still dragging my tail not moving forward with any routine, just trying to cover all bases and figure out if I can afford to keep my house.
I'm ok until someone asks about him, then it comes rushing back like it just happened.
HOping the woulduve, coulduve, shoulduve stuff moves on so I can stop tormenting myself and second guessing what I could have done different to help him.
I'm trying.....
I hope you're doing well.

SO GOOD to hear from you Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 !!! ๐๐๐
Your emotions will be like a ROLLERCOASTER RIDE at times.
Ride it YOUR WAY and CELEBRATE the good days and nights so you get more.
Thanks for asking - in the SAME financial boat you are in and so NOT fun. โน
They say NOT to make any DECISIONS that can WAIT until you have PEACE about things.
Bottom line, getting him off is priority right now. And I hope his and your kids are SUPPORTING you with this.
Then once he is all set, time to FIGURE OUT what is best for YOU. And this may involve Grief Counseling, finding activities you enjoy and so on.
Promise me to TRY to stay hydrated (water) as KIDNEY STONES I am told are worst than childbirth. ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ
Then when you feel up to it and IF you have been busy being a CAREGIVER (we tend to forget to take care of ourselves), set up your Medical Stuff. Hey, you need to be HEALTHY to MOVE FORWARD on your Healing Journey.
Marcy @MarcyW882921 had REMINDED us all of this. Thank you Marcy!!! ๐๐๐
The challenge for me is wanting to IMPROVE my life with NOT having neighbors from h.ll (Studio Apt) which means NOT sharing my wall, ceiling or floor with anyone. Lol, also waiting to see where my laid off daughter (only child) ends up. Yes, frustrating but too OLD to move again. So wait I will. ๐๐๐ Want to try to make this my LAST MOVE at age 66.
Luv,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ค (Grief Forum)

Hello,
Each day is better, in some ways, in others worse when I encounter surprise financial responsibilities I will need to resolve placing me in a bad spot.
Today it's anger - grief - disbelief he did this and I didn't know it.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
Thank you for all you do, I hope you're doing well.
Thanks so much

Dear Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 , YES - anger can be part of our lives AFTER losing someone. Mine was his lifestyle which killed him - drugs!!! And YES, tomorrow will be ANOTHER day FULL of possibilities my friend. IT IS SO GOOD to hear from you again. Made my day EXTRA SPECIAL. Keep stepping. Find support where you can. Nourish your insides = self care. Lol, yesterday was a FEEL SORRY day for me. Today, not so much and returning to my SELF CARE. I am ALWAYS here for you.
Luv,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ค (Grief Forum)

Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 you have one thing marked off of your list of things to take care of. It can be overwhelming so prioritize the items and work your way through them at a pace you can handle. Some things can't be done until you have death certificates so those will have to wait. Hopefully your funeral director gave you a list to follow and you will feel your burden lighten as you check them off as being done.
You will get through this.

Thank you, they actually gave me the link for AARP which I already had since I've been a member.
One day I cry the next I can't today is the crying day I think, I finally slept last night after a week, I know he just died Sunday but it still seems so unreal.
He's had many health issues and I have a health background but no one prepared us that the end was here.
His kids are grown and so are mine, hugs to you too.
the future seems so uncertain, unfortunately after I retired I no longer had great life insurance for him and once we were going to his health was too bad.
Thank you again, sincerely
Suzanne

โป๏ธ [Thursday 9/5/24 10:51am ET]
Okay guys, I MISS YOU ALL!!!
Since we are NO longer allowed to continue with Our Daily Chat Thread here in the Grief Forum - AARP had suggested STARTING one in their Friends & Family Forum.
Lol, I had told them NO ONE posts there anymore and forum has died over the years. ๐๐๐
But, how about we give it a try???
Any takers???
I am heading out to library down my hill to hopefully hand wash my car in PEACE. Yes, need me some of that. Here at apartment way too many folks want to borrow my ears. NOT TODAY.
I am heading to PM the Grief Team (well, before we disbanded last month due to new rules).
I can set up a NEW THREAD there for us to CONTINUE to nurture each other on Our Healing Journeys!!! ๐๐๐
Luv you ALL my friends,

I am sure that you will make a success of it with your dedication and spirit.
You mentioned a couple of words in a post not too long ago concerning going to the Friends and Family board with this sort of discussion. I thought these two word captured exactly what you and others here are trying to accomplish - the words were โMOVING FORWARDโ, I believe, and it is an important aspect of life after loss - a more long term quest whether emotional, mentally, physically, logistically or just those everyday decisions that have to be made.
Think you said it well here on 08/29/2024 (7:42 pm)
