@LaDolceVita ...Funny Woman takes place in the 60's, so the music was right up my alley. I was sitting there last night rocking and belting out the lyrics. LOL
I think I saw a few episodes of Seaside Hotel, but never was able to find it again. I should look it up on PBS since I think I have Passport. Only problem is that I'd have to sit here at the computer to watch.

HI @catwoman500 ! I hope you’re feeling, & doing, WELL! AFA PBS: It’s the BEST!! That said...
Before I had cable....on the TVs that you had to get up every time to switch the few channels there were, or to adjust the volume etc. PBS was the main alterative to the BIG THREE ALL CAPS LETTERS CHANNELS...[before CNN LOL!!] : CBS, NBC, & ABC! When signals went digitized (or whatever happened like 20 years ago) I had to get cable (& forced to buy another TV that was cable-ready) I always used on demand to watch PBS so I could choose what to watch & when & pause & return later etc.) Then I bought a wide screen 52 inch **(which was huge at the time) that had the HDMI ports. It still works, but ...Now I need to have another TV that can play HD & all that SMART TV crap stuff....HAAA ...But just can’t afford it...& also had to ditch ever increasing cable! So now I’m using my 2016 laptop to stream shows on demand, like TUBI! But the laptop is dying ...as less keys work & its slowing down a lot...LIKE ME...LOL!
However our PBS ain’t free anymore: “PBS offers a variety of shows and documentaries to stream online, but none of them are free. You can watch full episodes of PBS NewsHour, NOVA, Antiques Roadshow, and other popular series with a Passport membership” Yet one more thing I just can’t afford ATM! SUXBEINGPOORTHATSFORSURE
Anyway, as always... Take care!

HI @catwoman500 ! The way these forum posts are set up, if someone doesn’t reply...or at least kudo (I hate that we have to use that word here...I’d almost like a simple ‘thumbs up’ 👍 ...LOL!) then we don’t have any other way to know if someone has read a post we make to them!
That said....I don’t know if you saw 👀 this particular post to you earlier...
& since you haven’t posted a new topic... or a thread that wasn’t directed to another specific member...where I could reply to...then this is my feeble (Hahaa) attempt to reach out to you & say:
>>>>>>> I hope you’re feeling, & doing, WELL!
Also... I wanted to say....
Thanks for all the kudos 👍 lately! 👍
Anyway... Take care! 🍀 ☮️ ~Allen 🌈 🍀

I would be happy if more people would reply to the posts here. The size of the silent majority here is staggering.
I've been a member here since January 2009 and have not had any issues. Mostly I hope everyone is enjoying the Front Porch.
A couple of the topics here have had over 500,000+ views sense they were first posted.
It would be nice to see more posters on all topics.

HI Dave! @DaveMcK How ya been?
Thanks for telling me that
“I have read and replied to your post”
Like I mentioned, it’s just the way these forum posts are set up, if someone doesn’t reply...or PM ...or at least kudo, then we don’t have any other way to know if someone has read a post we make to them!
In general, we who make many posts, like yourself, do not know who exactly has seen them... or if they liked them...or it was something they related to, unless there’s a reply (or kudo).
All we usually get is the total # of views....which to me, the # itself doesn’t really matter.
[Well...of course, other than this:
“A couple of the topics here have had over 500,000+ views”!!!] 😊
Anyway...thanks Dave for making...& maintaining...this wonderful 👍 Front Porch!👍
Take care! 🍀 ☮️ ~Allen 🌈 🍀

@Therapist4u and @ everyone here, big sauna news!! Both hubby and I have lower blood pressure, about 10 points lower, measured at home and at the doctor's office after 2 weeks of daily use. Neither one of us is on BP medication and hopefully the sauna will delay having to take meds. No other news right now.
@Therapist4u Sorry you are having issues with body parts! I hope you do not need surgery and can make do with phyical therapy instead! Thats what I tell hubby, he is having knee issues, he iscertain he needs knee replacment down the road.

Hey @LaDolceVita Thanks for the reply.... & the updates, for all of us!
I’m glad that you’re now able to see &/or feel REAL benefits from all the time & effort y’all put into the sauna! That is a significant lowering of y’alls BP...& I assume DOC is happy about that too! [Gotta keep them happy too....AMIRIGHT??! LOL!!]
“I tell hubby, he is having knee issues, he is certain he needs knee replacement down the road.” As I am also trying to do....delay surgeries...for my hand, my back, my knees, ...all major joints eaten away by a vicious persistent arthritis! I did have a few jaw area procedures...in order to delay a worse case scenario...something I was totally unprepared for...to even think of >>>> having your jaw wired shut...then they actually have to “break it” in order to replace it....the Doc was honest....it would be major painful for a long time...(in addition to my regular terrible pain) & even after all that...they can’t guarantee that it will work.....it would also affect abilities to talk, to eat ...& because it would be a while of having a really deformed face...maybe make you not want to be seen in public! [as I’m typing... I thought of an extreme case...that of “the Elephant Man”]
Anyway....now that I’ve scared myself...& possibly everybody else....I’m thinking of Monty Python...
“always look on the bright side of life!” LOL!
I try to intersperse with some Humor....as a way of dealing with all the not so happy things in life!
Well...I had more to write.... but my fingers are revolting....HA!
I hope you’re feeling, & doing, WELL!
As always... Take care!

Hey @LaDolceVita
Thanks for replying!...& thanks so much for caring!
While you’re fortunate with a milder form of arthritis, I’d imagine that hubby has to have some regimen he follows...to try to check the advance of it! With you by his side...he is blessed to have you to count on! That...& the sauna....LOL!! Water therapy is SO helpful for joints...& other things too!
I just saw my Orthopedic Surgeon of 5 years for some shots in my knees...had some shots last week for my hand...my 3rd epidural for my back 2 weeks ago....& I’ll see him next week for the last visit! I told myself today to not focus on anything that starts an emotional response..it’s so hard because he’s the main reason I still have mobility!!! & a less painful existence!
BUT...I’ve been working on finding a new one every day since I got the notice of closing...& already located another that takes my insurance...that is a no. 1 priority!...followed by no. 2>>>>are they taking new patients? I’m waiting to schedule a 1st visit!
Anyway...it’s a pleasure chatting with you!
I hope you’re feeling, & doing, WELL!
As always... Take care!

Arthritics anonymous hi, osteo and rheumatoid since 18-20 years young. That could be one of several reasons I keep dropping off planet. Which med’s work with the others to allow me some manual dexterity in my fingers, and which give me just more problems than they’re worth.
The joys of maturity Parkinson’s,Afib, arthritis, etc.::
Re: doctors and insurance acceptance, call your primary care physician and tell them you need an accepted insurance doctor. Did with all of mine, including for the Boston specialist 50 years.
Re: Lenovo.us let your fingers do the walking at their closeout sections amd’s and intel with between 16 and 32gb are going for $600-1000.
Tried to do a PM not happening this week either.
I used 10 Thinkpads before I started making my own, and those I’ve stopped making, time for retirement #4, this one I think I’ll stay retired.😎
Think these clearances are good through Sunday or Monday with SSD’s of 512 Gb?? Can’t send links. T hey come with Windows11 Pro preloaded.

Hey Froze @Frozenoem
It’s good to see you’re here!
Using the PM I found thru trial & error....is that both sides must be listed as ‘friends’ & I think I had nudged the ‘add friend’ off on my end...so it’s fixed now!
“Your private message has been sent.”
BTW: I’ll reply to this post later...or might have to wait until tomorrow....
&/or thru the PM!!
Anyway,
Take care! ☮️ 🌄 ~Allen 🌈 🎨

@LaDolceVita I didnot like "Funny Woman" - the couple of minutes I had watched.
IF "Seaside Hotel" is the one where the language is FOREIGN and the captions are ENGLISH - tried it. Gave up. Wish they would do one where they are SPEAKING ENGLISH.

@Winter2024 Seaside Hotel is in Danish, I enjoy trying to pick out German sounding words and I do not mind the CC. I know a few words in German and would like to pick it up again if I get a chance.

@DaveMcK Unfortunately no vacations coming my way at all! All is quiet on the Porch, hope you all are doing well. I feel good, just weighed down by chores. Weather kind of dreary, winter is lasting into February. Sometimes we get a taste of spring by this time of year.
I gave myself a home sauna, the one person kind, for my birthday. Have it put together, still need electrician to wire. Hoping it will help with aches and pains and sleep quality. I will report my findings in detail.
No other news here, all the furry kids are doing well, including the 20 year old one.

My backup power for the moment is 2 li-ion batteries and a 12 volt inverter, left over pieces from camp and rv
I’ll be back when I’m back. Probably with links to websites in a PM

Hi Froze! @Frozenoem
I’m glad to see a post from you!
“My backup power for the moment is 2 li-ion batteries and a 12 volt inverter, left over pieces from camp and rv”.....
It sounds like you are a “Mr. Fixit” type, like MacGyver...LOL!... fixing or repairing stuff in the simplest way possible, using whatever you have around!
If it works...it works!
And you’ll be back whenever you’re back!
I hope that you’re safe & warm in your place!
