Specifically, this film highlights the ways in which older people foster community to combat social isolation and loneliness, making it a film full of laughs, learning, fun, and even more pancakes! Entirely created by a group of older students from an Institute for Learning in Retirement, the unique passion project turned out to be the group’s first film together.

- Every Monday Night

- Stand Down

For the past 32 years the addicted and homeless veterans of San Diego have a place to be valued and welcomed. Running with the ethic of “leave no one behind,” Stand Down is a three day event and the love child of Vietnam vets. It starts with thousands of local volunteers, a secure encampment offering food, clothing, and shelter as well as medical, legal, and dental services wrapped up in an event-style venue including conviviality and live music.

Stand Down, the thirty minute film directed by Paul Steinbroner, shares the hope and support of this event with a broader audience seeking to better understand and learn from those of our vets who are homeless.

Welcome to Recovery Café

Welcome to Recovery Café is a short documentary that reveals that good nutrition, connection, and community are the antidotes to isolation, loneliness, and recidivism. Recovery Café is a refuge of hope and healing where transformation is on the menu. It’s a place where people who have been ignored and not valued are given loving attention and valued. It is a place where people come back to life! Recovery Café is not a drop in or a crisis center. In addition to AARP Movies For Grownups...

There is - AARP Theater Shows

Mozart's Don Giovanni from the Salzburg Festival        (Opera)                                                                                              September 1

In Claus Guth's almost cinematic production of Don Giovanni, every character in Mozart's most realistic opera appears to be seeking either salvation or damnation in the woods -- a compelling set concept that removes the opera from the traditional pseudo-Seville squares and palaces. In the dense forest planted on the stage of the Haus für Mozart, the rugged macho Don Giovanni, assisted by his unsavory accomplice Leporello, lures the ladies with the heady scent of danger. Christopher Maltman embodies Don Giovanni as an almost reluctant seducer -- a man fated to bring misery to women and, ultimately, to himself. He heads an outstanding cast for a production that, by its very originality, demonstrates the strength of Mozart's original conception.

             2008       Runtime: 177 Minutes

.

The Royal Ballet: The Winter's Tale       September 23

The Winter’s Tale received ecstatic praise at its premiere, acclaimed by critics and audiences alike for its intelligent, distinctive and emotionally powerful story, told through exquisite dance. It is now widely judged to be a modern ballet classic. The story follows the destruction of a marriage through consuming jealousy, the abandonment of a child and a seemingly hopeless love. Yet, through remorse and regret – and after a seemingly miraculous return to life – the ending is one of forgiveness and reconciliation. The Winter’s Tale is a masterful modern narrative ballet. Wheeldon continues his highly successful collaboration with designer Bob Crowley and composer Joby Talbot, the team behind Alice, in one of the highlights of The Royal Ballet Season.

               2018     Runtime: 107 Minutes

.

Broadway & Beyond  with Marin Mazzie + Jason Danieley      Oct 14

The late, three-time Tony Award nominee ("Ragtime", "Kiss Me, Kate"), Marin Mazzie, was a Broadway icon. Prior to her losing a three-year battle to ovarian cancer, Mazzie continued to dazzle audiences with her gorgeous voice. In one of her final performances, Mazzie, with her husband, Jason Danieley, who, according to The New York Times, is "the most exquisite tenor on Broadway", paired up in an intimate concert at Broadway's famed cabaret, Feinstein's 54 Below.

.

Ricciardo E Zoraide  at the Rossini Opera Festival    Oct 27

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the premiere of the Rossini rarity, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Italy, staged Ricciardo e Zoraide with an all-star cast. Juan Diego Flórez makes his debut as the crusader Ricciardo, giving a “masterclass in bel canto” (Bachtrack). Pretty Yende is “radiant and richly expressive” (Financial Times) as Zoraide – proves that she is “a virtuosa in Rossini singing” (Neue Musikzeitung).

Thanks for the Instructions @OneDayMatisyahu

One question before I look into installing the App.  Are the dates and times 'Cast in Stone' like broadcast T.V.?  Or are they flexible like Streaming Services...i.e. Once it is made available it remains available for some time before it gets aged off?

...Nevermind...Read the FAQ:

10.  I can't make it at the scheduled date and time, can I watch later? No. The movie is only available at the scheduled date and time, it is not available on demand.
