๐ฆ BAT WEEK: October 24-31 ๐ฆ
Save the Bats!
Bat Week is an international, annual celebration designed to raise awareness about the need for bat conservation. Bats are amazing creatures that are vital to the health of our natural world and economy. Although we may not always see them, bats are hard at work all around the world each night - eating tons of insects, pollinating flowers, and spreading seeds that grow new plants and trees.

We celebrate bats here in Austin. From mid-March to early November, a colony of bats claim their residence under the Congress Avenue Bridge in downtown Austin. In the evening, people from everywhere gather to watch them fly out into the evening sky to feast on mosquitos. We โค๏ธ our ๐ฆs!

Haven't finished going through the Links yet...just wanted to contribute a memory from my younger days. When we would see bats flying around at night we would find a small object on the ground and toss it up in the air near the bats to try to get them to chase it. They are amazingly agile aerialists.
