My first husband died. Most of the money I put into innuities. My 2nd husband, who had nothing and was in debt when I married him (he is now debt free except for medical bills) seems to have alzheimers. I do not want to have all my savings from my previous husband go for my 2nd husband's care. Is there anyone who might have some suggestions for me or how I begin to research this? Would simply divorcing him work?
My best suggestion to you would be to contact both an attorney and a financial investment advisor. Maybe talk to more than one of each before settling with the one(s) you will ultimately hire to help guide you while navigating what is going to be difficult times ahead.
