Thank You  I will check in with the LOA office.  I have relatives in Idaho and Pennsylvania.  I guess it will be a discussion with my son to see which state he is interested in.   He was the one that said we should relocate.   I feel bad for him as my only remaining son, he feels pressure of being the only child and thinks he is responsible for replacing his brother/father.  I keep telling him that I can do it and he has his own life to live.  He has yet to deal with the deaths of his brother, father and uncle.  It has been 6 1/2 months since I lost my son, husband and brother.  Do you think I am making decisions to relocate too soon?  It is so nice to have a format to ask these questions and to have these conversations.

Continue to: encourage your son to be his own person and show him with actions that you are handling things (because you are). Much of the literature says you shouldn't make any major decisions for a year after a loss. Just like the grief process is unique to each person I think the timing for decision-making is different for each person too. Relocating is a big decision and is an additional stressor. I agree with Nicole that when you are ready, making a list of pros and cons is a good idea. Things like climate, moving expenses, car insurance rates, utility rates, homowner's/renter's insurance, housing availability, property taxes, state taxes, health care, support systems, etc.

2 comments (5/18/23) And I just thought of this Marcy @MarcyW882921 . Our will and all the other documents that goes with it. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

But as you "reminded" me - 1 step at a time! ๐Ÿ‘

Luv you my friend,

Yes believe it or not wills drawn up in one state do not necessarily meet the requirements of another state. It is something to be investigated if you move to another state.

Good to hear from you.  Mothers Day, my son took me to dinner and we had a quiet, peaceful day.  I am like a pogo stick; up and down.  More things are breaking.  Is it Karma?  The city needs to replace the water meter; the pool filter broke, and the air conditioning in the car stopped working!!!  With the way my life is going I just decided there is nothing I can do but take one day at a time,  fix things and move on.  I was always a busy person and I guess my husband is just trying to keep me happy?? by keeping me busy.  ๐Ÿ˜‚  I am and will continue to Take One Step At a Time and do the best I can.  Wishing everyone on this site Happiness & Peace.  I cannot tell you how all of you have helped me through the saddest days of my life.  Nicole I hope all goes well with your new home.   I, too, am thinking about moving out of state.

That's a lot to cope with Cadee. Household things can become exhausting. I've had lots of clearing out to do. But I guess that's how it goes. I go from one thing to another in my day and try not to think too much. Starting a book in the am, just a few paragraphs, a few more later in the day and save the rest for night. Helps me to detach from stresses. You take good care of yourself Cadee. The houses and repairs will be here after us!

Wow Cadee you just keep getting hit with things! You're right...all you can do is take one step and one day at a time and keep moving forward. You are definitely being kept busy by someone or something. I hope that you find some peace and happiness soon.

I was thinking of everyone on this thread tonight too. For me, lately it's been up and down. I guess it's no smooth ride. It was a lovely Mother's Day with two of our adult children. It was great to see them. Now I feel like I'm almost back at square one with the grieving. I wonder how all of you are doing with all these new adjustments?  How was your Mother's Day? Not all days can be good. For me Easter wasn't good. But apparently I got through it.

I'm thinking of all the people on this thread and all their sharing and concerns. I want to wish all the Moms a lovely Mothers Day! No matter what kind of day it is, rain or shine, you will get through it. I'm sure your husbands and loved ones think you're the greatest Moms ever! Someday we will be with our loved ones in heaven. Now that's something nice to look forward to the future. At the appropriate time.

I wasn't sure if this was Nicole either. I agree with mc that you will be missed if it is you! Are you finally getting to go to Florida near your daughter? That would mean congratulations are in order! I don't know what part of Florida you might be heading to but I am in the southern part.

1 comment (5/10/23) Dear @mc6844 , they say stuff happens for a "reason" - I am still waiting on an AARP Tech number to hopefully get my issue resolved = I get to chat with you!!! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Lol, I want to TALK with them to find out WHY I am showing "logged in" when I am "logged out" ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„

Want to WAIT to "log out"... Wish me luck/lol ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚

Yes Nicole thank you for reminding me that waiting has it's own rewards. Like getting to know all you wonderful people on this forum. Your struggles and courage to overcome, while remembering loved ones with respect is admirable. I think however after a while we all look forward to the new! Take care.

You will be missed by this girl. Take care, our dear friend. I hope you enjoy Florida-I live in Tallahassee, so this part of Florida is loved by me. Not so crazy about the traffic further south. Let us know how you are from time to time, and again, thanks for all your care and concern for so many of us.

4 comments (5/10/23) Dear Catherine @CatherineS641676 I just came back from Walmart  and see I received 2 AARP emails telling me you gave me "kudos" - Party Time ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’ƒ Thank you ๐Ÿค—๐ŸคŽ Lol, waiting on @AARPJanelleM to hopefully post a number to the AARP Tech person ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ as I always clear my cache and so on daily. My showing as being logged in (green button) all the time is not good. Issue started when they changed how we sign in. I think last month (senior moment/lol - forgot). Anyway, do not want to sign out again BEFORE I speak to them. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Glad I followed my intuition and learn't to check my profile on my other phone. You can see what the public sees. The button is suppose to be GREY when you logged out. Lol, NOT mine. Got a PM from someone who thought I was still logged in. Anyway....

I would love that-we are going north next, but are always in Lake Worth for Thanksgiving and Christmas. (I do an early Xmas in New York with the boys). You are on the Gulf side?. And, yes, I feel like I found a friend in you, also. We shall see what the future brings, but having a beer or a glass of wine with you would be big fun. Keep in touch-pm is fine, too

Good Morning to everyone.  Well, I found a washer.  Should be delivered this week.  Water Heater (check), windshield (check), washer (check).  I am working my way through the list.  It is keeping me busy but it distracts me from the sadness.   Hope that everyone is well and that May will be sunny and bright for us all.
