Thank you for the notes, with 'hugs', uplifting messages. I do sincerely appreciate all of them.
It's been 6 mths since my husband died, the beginning of the month really rough, finally the end of April I finally accepted that I couldn't have done anything else to change his outcome.
In the end I honored his wishes, and he was suffering in pain so much, I most definitely didn't wish to add or prolong his agony.
So far anyway, I don't feel like I'm going to cry at the drop of a hat everyday. Little by little sorting through the anger of his abuse of money that we never had the chance to discuss which complicated the grief and overwhelming conflicting emotions.
I hope everyone out there challenged with grief finds this wonderfully uplifting group.
God Bless each and everyone of you. Sending 'hugs' and positive energy to all who may want or need it.
So, today is a good day. โค๏ธ

Wow Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 !
That is a huge step to accept that you did all that you could for your husband. The guilt and what ifs are enormous burdens to carry after a loss.
Celebrate your success, good days, and persistence in working through other aspects of your grief.
Hugs,
Marcy

SO GOOD to hear from you AGAIN Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 !!! ๐
Yes, anger is normal and WE will learn to "let go" of it as we keep stepping dear friend.
Yes, my daughter's father had chosen drugs & alcohol over being a dad to her. Sadly because of his lifestyle, COVID got him. Now she is left with "unresolved" emotions I am hoping will heal at some point. I have forgiven him. She has NOT and says she will NEVER.
Did you move out of your house? ๐ค
I am ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU!!!
Luv,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ค (Grief Forum)

Nicole @SpringIsHereVA ,
I hope your daughter will one day find a way to let go of her anger and find peace. Anger can be so destructive and consuming, and our time on earth is precious.

I hope so too Marcy @MarcyW882921 !!! Lol, she use to get mad at me when he was still alive because I would tell her that IF he had NOT come into my life = I would NOT have had her. It took years for me to have peace about his choices. IF he had MOVED away from his TOXIC parents like his grandmother & myself wanted, he would still be with us. Now to HOPE my daughter GUARDS her "insides" from them. I need to return to Florida to make sure, but need to make sure I CAN DEAL WITH THEM MYSELF. ๐ These 10 years in Virginia has SAVED MY LIFE. I hope your daughter can release her anger, with her forgiveness will come a worthwhile release of that pain. As you know, it won't change what happened but will allow her to live a happier life unburdened from the anger.
I decided to take some money from retirement to allow me time to decide what I need/want to do.
For now, I am staying at the house, working on getting a part time job that I hope will allow me to continue to stay in my home.
Thank you for all of your support, I will pop in again. I do appreciate you!
Hugs~

Suzanne @SuzanneS949035 ,
It's great that you are actively exploring and finding ways to stay in your home while you think through your decisions! Being in a comfortable environment helps to facilitate clearer thinking and reduces at least one stress factor.

YUP- Grief is indeed a lifelong journey. The love of my live went to heaven just before Christmas in 2021 so will be four years this christmas. I am actually now functioning very well
and living life normally (whatever that is). But every once in a while I notice something that reminds me of Jan - maybe shed a few tears but not many. The solace I have is the way I was able to take care of her since Dec. 2014. It was at that point her kidneys failed and she began the downward journey. She ended up with a kidney transplant in 2015, two strokes one in 2016 one about 88 days after the first stroke, two broken shoulders from falls and a hip replacement. She did over 100 Dr. visits, had the two surgeries, and recoveries, and the disabling strokes. The sad part was she recovered 100% from the first stroke but the Dr. told us to wait 90 days before we know that all is ok as a second stroke is common within the first 90 days. She had her second and much more disabling stroke on the 88th day. Through this all she was positive and had a great attitude.
The end came in Dec. 21 of 2021. She had contacted covid in October and the first thing the Dr. told me was that she had virtually no chance of recovering from it as she had no immune system due to the anti-rejection drugs she was on for her kidney.
And life goes on.
