Parent not able to make sense of things

I am at wits end on the phone with my parent who cannot understand anything and puts in the other phone in conversation. Someone dropped off something and cannot figure it out... like xyz dropped this over for you. Got a teenager who does not get things... Etc. How do you deal with it?

Correction: Parent is having processing issues and wants to solve things over the phone. I try to give a solution to solve it but does not listen. It gets very frustrating. I say I will have to bring it over.
