AARP recommends Marcus, which has great rates, but they will not allow a trust as beneficiary?

Months ago, we signed up for a Marcus account to help our retirement savings grow. They have a very good rate near 5%. We also just had our trust revised (we moved to a different state) and are making sure all our assets list our trust as beneficiary. When we called Marcus yesterday to have this done, they said they couldn't do it - they will not allow a trust to be a beneficiary of our account. This is a red flag for anyone trying to be responsible with their finances. AARP should advocate that the programs they endorse are trust friendly.
