Headlining the web site today is an article about GROCERY CHAINS that offer discounts to seniors.
Not only are the writers for AARP lazy because this article has appeared previously, in its same form, months ago, but AARP'S researchers were remiss in leaving out one of the biggest grocers in the country from this repeat article JUST LIKE THE FIRST TIME THEY RAN THE ARTICLE.
They left out the PUBLIX GROCERY CHAIN. A chain with 1,367 locations, one of the top ten in volume, 90 years in business, 54.5 BILLION in sales and located in SEVEN states. And yes, they offer 5% discounts TO SENIORS on WEDNESDAYS.
AARP'S WRITING STAFF, BY VIRTUE OF REPEATING AN OLD ARTICLE, AND, ONCE AGAIN, LEAVING OUT A HUGE GROCERY CHAIN EVEN THOUGH THIS HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION, SHOWS HOW AMATEURISH THEIR WRITING STAFF IS. FAILING TO SHOW PUBLIX AS A SHOPPING DESTINATION WILL COST THE SENIOR POPULATION IN THOSE SEVEN STATES UNTOLD AMOUNTS OF MONEY.
I don't know why writers/ researchers are not listing Publix. It is a sizeable regional supermarket with an above average Deli department and Bakery, and always a number of nice BOGO's each week (and if you live in a state or select area where you don't need to buy the two for a BOGO - you can essentially buy one item for 50% off - nice ☑️ )
