I know this is an old thread, but just throwing my 2 cents in...I prefer a desktop because I can also use it for a lot of other things besides just games.
I've been playing games on computers since the early 1980s.I've never had a console mainly because I've never lived anywhere that had enough room for both a console and a desktop.
