 Fall Training begins September 30, 2013

 You receive Free Training and Support

Communication and Active Listening Skills

Basics of Counseling

Working with Diverse Cultures

Social and Family Relationships

Understanding Social Isolation

Working with Grief and Loss

How to Recognize and Respond to Depression and Anxiety

Common Health Issues of Older Adults

Taking Care of Yourself

Professional Supervision and Continuing Education

 

Expectations

Interest in working with older adults

Be a good listener

Be caring and compassionate

Be at least 55 years old

Have transportation

Be able volunteer 1+ hours a week

Attend two 3 hour training sessions a week for 9 weeks

Meet with fellow volunteers twice a month

 - Services for Seniors who speak English, Spanish, Chinese, & Tagalog, and for LBGT Seniors -
