๐Ÿ’ผ AARP Fights Age Discrimination in the Workplace (AARP Article/Advocacy)

FROM THE ARTICLE:

AARP Is Fighting To Ensure Older Workers Get a Fair Shot.

Federal and state legislation could curb age discrimination.

By Nancy LeaMond, AARP. Published May 16, 2025.

Today Americans are working later into life than ever before. In fact, workers ages 75 and older are the fastest-growing age group in the workforce, more than quadrupling in size since 1964.

For some, the decision to stay in the workforce is driven by the desire to stay active and engaged in the later years of life. In some cases, these older workers are turning to gig or independent work. These jobs come with more freedom and flexibility than a traditional full-time position and provide an opportunity to earn additional income.

I am guessing it is probably CHEAPER to "hire" someone just out of College/University.

But in my very humble opinion, BOOK KNOWLEDGE "never" can replace on-the-job experience. I feel this is WHY there are so many recalls for example with Toyoto & Honda. At age 67 this year 2025, my 1st car at age 18 was a Honda Civic Hatchback. Never heard of any recalls. Also had a Toyota Tercel in my 30's, again never heard of any recalls.

Geez, I am hanging on to my 2006 Hyundai Elantra. Even IF I got a FREE "new" car this year, I DONOT want it. Way too much fires, deaths and so on. Oh, add theft in spite of a security system. Lol, no one wants my Old Lady.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Take care,
