Biking in Ohio along the Erie Canal towpath and into Amish country.

Hiking in Cornwall, England.

Hiking on the Olympic Penninsula (Washington State).

Smaller, more local, urban trips such as Galena or Springfield, Illinois.

I'd like to stress the issue of planning, and booking, early. I have already booked planned trips through June. I find, and others have commented, that hotels, B&B's, planes, etc. book up quickly. You need to start planning now, and booking soon to get the best deals.  Yes, you can get last-minute deals, if you want to take the chance. But otherwise, decent accomodations at decent prices will book quickly, often leaving only more expensive options.
