I was approved for Medicare in June 2023.
I was approved for Social Security at the end of August 2023.
I paid my Medicare premium in the middle of August 2023.
It is now September 2023 and Social Security is keeping my benefits to pay for the same months of my Medicare that I already paid (September, October, November 2023).
HOW will I ever get them to understand that?
I am paying twice for the first 3 months of Medicare.
They are keeping 3 months of benefits that I should be getting.
Thank you for any insight.
Frustrating.

Do you have accounts set up for both?

Welcome to Medicare | Medicare
Do you have receipts for when you made payments?
So you paid your Part B premiums by cash, online or CC for the months of June, July and August, You had to pay these directly via cash/ CC / online because you werenโt getting a SS benefit for those months but your did have Medicare.
Are you saying you paid another (3) months of premiums via cash, online or CC in August for the months of September, October and November - and since your SS benefit started in September, they will also be deducting the Part B premium from your benefit amount for each of those months.
If my above interpretation of your post is correct, they should already know about it, or will when all your payments are processed, because your monthly premiums are logged just for you by your identifying numbers.
However, the process of getting your money back from the government takes time because (2) different agencies are involved - Social Security and Medicare.
SS processes your Part B premiums deducted from your benefit amount. AND Medicare processes your Part B premiums that are billed and you pay via cash, CC or online.
Came back to add - since I donโt know the date when you get your benefit - then September would be the only possible month that you may have paid your Part B premium twice -unless it hasnโt been issued yet according to your birthday.
