AARP Eye Center
Hi folks,
What is your experience with US Social Security ?
I have worked many years in silicon valley.
Now back in Germany, Social Security received for some years.
4 months ago, payment suddenly stopped.
Contacted Boston main office by mail, telephone, fax, registered letter.
No response at all.
Any advice ?
Thanks®ards,
Dix
There could be any number of reasons why payments may have stopped -
but you will have to determine which, if any, of these conditions apply to your situation. This pamphlet covers many of the requirements and reasons why they may stop.
https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/EN-05-10137.pdf
It also gives other contact info at the end depending upon the situation.
cat0w gave you some good advice about signing up for a mySocialSecurity account and then review any letters or messages which are meant for you - they are suppose to always send them by mail too but being out of the country, who knows if that works well.
Thank you all.
Appreciated alot.
Will try ssa.gov., then go to Franfurt if needed.
The phone conversation with Baltimore was one way only, as Ms. W. was on tape recording.
Nevertheles, stopping payment w/o any notice, was not a nice present.
Wish you all perfect holidays,
Dix
@DieterT139482 Have you visited the Social Security web site, created an account and checked to see what is showing there?
