Social Security after very possible default

I am considering pulling investment money out this coming week due to the fact that our government officials are holding our personal income hostage over the debt ceiling fight. We are good with our SS and pensions but if SS is halted we will default on our own monthly bills. Pulling out money will avoid that but it will hurt us tax wise so I hate to do that. Do you think they will actually allow the US to default?

I am a Republican but I don't agree with thier present tactics. The Republican leadership is attempting to reign in government spending which is good. They get to choose the tools to accomplish that. In this case they chose to use millions of Americans income as part of the hammer. If we do default and the worst happens who is actually to blame. It will be those that picked this fight and the weapons they use to try to accomplish it.
