I'll start a thread where folks can post any new 'phishing emails' = emails you know to be fake/ false/ scams. I've been a AARP member for about 3 years and I know what 'real' AARP emails look like.
Easy way to know is to hover your 'cursor/ pointer' on the 'who it is From' = and if it isn't from AARP and says something else - then it is a 'phishing/ scam' email = Do Not Open the e-mail / Do Not Click to find out...
And if there is " No Preview is available " = also sign it 'may' be a 'phish/ scam'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I received today AARP Phish email:
From: ...AARP...Department... Subject: AARP Knows Rewards! Get you Rewards Here! No preview is available
When I hover my cursor over ' From: ...AARP...Department...' = it reveals the true sender " support@plastic.e-trudi.com" (95.178.107.196). ..and what will happen is they the 'bad guys/ scammers' will constantly change the name of who they really are; obfuscating their ID's
☹️ Be Aware, Be Alert
Another AARP Phish/ fake email today 11-14 and another 11-21
From: AARP Department Subject: 3rd Attempt for (your email) - You Have Won a $100.00 AARP Reward....
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It almost looks real, but 'true emails from AARP' should look like this:
From: AARP Rewards (hover over reveals) -----> email@email.aarp.org
or from Community/ Forum -----> AARPCommunity@aarp.org
or from -----> customercare@helloworldfulfillment.com
Whenever you hover over the 'From' and you don't see anything = this is a 'phish/ fake' email.
----------------------------------------------------------------
When you receive 'real' winning emails it should say from:
From : AARP Rewards ( with no additional trade-marks, signs/ icons/ punctuations or un-usual letterings or un-even capitalizations )
[ hover over reveals) ----> email@email.aarp.org ]
There is no " 2nd Attempt... or 3rd Attempt... " in real AARP Subject Lines -
🤔 Additional Notes: I see other 'phishing/ fake emails' saying 'I've won this and that' - you don't be tempted to click on these types of 'scam spams'
--- 'hover your cursor' to see if legitimate.
---------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------
Still another 'phish/ fake email' today:
From: 👑AARP.Rewards ™️👑
Subject: AARP Knows Rewards 👑! Get your ➡️ Rewards Here!
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is too obvious a 'phish/ fake email'
Plus - when I 'hover cursor' over "From' = it is a " .......@gmail.com " = automatically a 'fake/ scammer's email'
😒
11-17-23 More Phish/ fake emails. ( Remember if see any like these = they are false/ fake emails do not click to open them - "block sender and delete" )
From: _A.A.R.P_
Subject: Congrats,_You_have_won_an_"AARP_REWARD"_
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dec 26, 2023
From: AARP Department Subject: Congratulations! You have won an AARP Shopper Gift Card
