What songs from the 1970’s are on your playlist?

The 1970's were a great time for me, full of wonderful music to go along with the best decade of my life. So many songs to choose from, but I will start with one of my all time fav Fleetwood Mac songs "Go your own way" from the incredible Rumours album, recorded in 1977. I am pretty sure I wore this album out!!

Love River of Dreams. However, it was released in 1993 so it doesn't fit into this post. I'm sure we'll hit the 90's down the road!

Stardust - Willie Nelson (the album, 1978)

Some interesting trivia - - - According to Wikipedia, record executives were skeptical when Nelson came up with the idea of reviving his favorite standards for an album. This was a significant departure from his well established "outlaw" brand that had been very successful. Nelson recruited Booker T. Jones to produce the album, which was completed in 10 days, and released in April 1978. That same year it was certified platinum, then triple platinum in 1984, and quintuple platinum in 2002. In 2015, it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

I love Willie Nelson. You were always on my mind is my fav song by him. What do those record execs know anyhow? From what I read, at least four recording companies turned down the Beatles, most famously Decca records, who said "Groups of guitars are on the way out." They couldn't of been more wrong!!

My playlist looks a lot like yours! You've also reminded me of a few songs that I haven't heard in a while, and want to add. That is what makes these lists so much fun. Music is for sharing! Cat Happy

Oh, way too MANY to mention!

It was the BEST decade for music.

Both my high school and college graduations were in the 70s, so YES, I prefer our  music.

One of my 70s favorites is Mull of Kintyre, written by Paul McCartney and released in 1978 by Wings. It sounds very old!
