Moonglow  -  Avantasia  (2019 album on YouTube)

This is a "new to me" group from Germany. I saw a video of them ft. Klaus Meine (Scorpions), and decided to explore their music. They are described as a "power metal rock opera project". This album features several guest artists, including Americans Geoff Tate (Queensryche) and Candice Night (Blackmore's Night/Rainbow). They are a supergroup of European and American artists formed in 2001 by Tobias Sammet (German power band Edguy). Their albums are concept albums that have story lines, thus "rock opera". Their style is classical and melodic (think progressive rock / metal).

I enjoy discovering these "new" groups and music. This type of music seems very popular in Europe, especially Germany, Russia, and Scandinavian countries.

Queen with Paul Rodgers - 2005, full concert on YouTube

Such an unlikely pairing, but it really worked while it lasted (2005-2009). They did have to video feed Freddie's vocals for most of Bohemian Rhapsody, however! I don't think that anyone could sing that but Freddie and have it feel the same.

Great metal guitar music, sounds very Blackmore inspired.

It's not Rock & Roll but there's a video on YouTube that l really like. It's called The Highwayman sung by The Highwaymen  (Johnny Cash,  Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings.) The story is about a soul with incarnations in different places and different times. I really like the lyrics, they capture that soul exactly as the writer, Jimmy Webb, intended. Great song.
