Simply Red Holding Back the Years

The Right Thing
I like Simply Red. That said, I just have to comment on Money's Too Tight To Mention. I understand that it's not always easy to fit the right sylables into the right music for a masterpiece. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the right lyrics for the right music, and vice versa. However, what stood out to me, was that in this song, they missed a good opportunity to have a real big hit. With a little tweaking, if they changed the song to Money's Too Tight To Get Loose, they could have had a great hit here. It's the little things that make the difference between good and great. I really think they could have pulled it off.

I aggree that the verdict is out on the Moody Bluegrass,
but it was pretty cool. But the Moodies were a talent that
could not be duplicated.
I did not know that much about Simply Red. All I really knew
was a couple of the hit songs. "Holding back the years" and
"If you don't know me by now", So YouTube here I come......
The song "Smile" that was done in Cuba was great. It was very
well orchestrated. I loved the string section.
"You make me feel brand new" (The Stylistics) was awesum.
Then there was >> "Song for you" (I love the Carpenter's version).
But I felt that Simple Red did it justice. Very nicely done....
I played it twice. I believe from looking at the video, that this was
done in Cuba. (I took a major hint from all the vintage cars driving
around)
"Never never love", "It's only love" ,"The right thing"! They are
great songs. Thank you for the posting.
🙂

Right now I listening Michael Buble'.......
Just the right music to listen to while working
around the house. Michael knows how to sing
the standards and classics I like... I was sad to
learn months ago that his little boy had cancer.
But the good news is that he is doing better.
Mr.Buble' is another great humanitarian..He
makes the world around him a great place to
be in. And extends it out to all his fans.
But with love and miracles, we can find a cure
for cancer. There is hope for all of us..... 🙂

Nights In White Satin
Tuesday Afternoon
I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Bad)
Your Wildest Dreams
I Know You're Out There Somewhere
Legend Of A Mind
ETC
While I was doing my usual YouTube search.
I came upon an album called "Moody Bluegrass",
A nashville tribute to the Moody Blues...
It was interesting. It was nice to hear a music
city like NASHVILLE playing a tribute to an
international band. The Moody Blues made it
in Tennessee...Awesome...

I checked them out (Moody Bluegrass). They're not bad. However, just knowing that there's a Moody Blues version out there, makes me want to hear their version instead. Nobody can do it like the Moody Blues. It was kind of weird to hear a bluegrass version of Just A Singer In A Rock & Roll Band. I don't know what to make of that. But again, they weren't bad. Interesting. The jury's still still out.

I do a lot of listening while driving around in my car on errands, etc. Today I was listening to a CD of hits from 1982. I was especially enjoying "Shake It Up" by the Cars, "Gloria" by Laura Branigan, "Rosanna" by Toto, and best of all, "Eye In The Sky" by The Alan Parsons Project!
