So happy you mentioned "Animals can be heros, too."  My hero/heroine was my childhood friend, a cocker spaniel named Ginny, who I miss to this day!

While we traditionally think of a hero as someone who survived or, more likely, died in a battle, there are many ways to be a hero. Sometimes living your life with courage and vision in spite of a very difficult situation takes a heroic effort.

I Dreamed About Mama Last Night: Johnny Cash (from the tribute CD to Hank Williams titled “Timeless”). A tremendous list of artists, from Dylan to Keith Richards to Keb’ Mo’ to Tom Petty to Sheryl Crow to Emmylou Harris to Mark Knopfler to Lucinda Williams each sang a song. Terrific CD. The song Johnny Cash elected to sing is a bit schmaltzy, but what the hell..
