Songs about Heroes or Heroines

Just trying to think up a new song topic, so maybe try this one. Think of songs about your heros or heroines. Songs may have hero in the title or lyrics (those are easy), but others may be inferred by something a person has done, or be in reference to a particular person. Be creative!

So here are my first picks to get started -

Holding Out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler

Candle in the Wind - Elton John (in reference to Marilyn Monroe and later Lady Diana)

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” - Jimi Hendrix

A nice song and album, all around (1974)

Edit:   That was the last album with Bob Welch and just before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks

"You've Made Me So Very Happy"

       by Blood, Sweat and Tears

"I lost at love before
Got mad and closed the door
But you said try just once more
I chose you for the one
Now I'm having so much fun
You treated me so kind,
I'm about to lose my mind
You made me so very happy
I'm so glad you came into my life"

Coward of the County by Kenny Rogers.         When Tommy left the barroom, not a Gatlin boy was standing, and he said "this one's for Becky" as he saw the last one fall.                                                                                                  Well this was suret hard to input. The keyboard changed the word "barroom" to "batroom" then to "bathroom," neither of which would have really conveyed the proper heroic ending to this vintage story-song.

American Soldier by Toby Keith. 45 million + views on YouTube, n this is a good one and 100% hero.  Sorry if a repeat. Definitely worth the three-minute listen  any event (or you can probably Google the lyrics if you don't care to hear Toby).
