Songs About Meanies and Others We Just Can't Like

Some folks are so.dastardly or nasty.  We know the type - the kind that we would never want to have to share a "stay at home" order with.

But they get exposed for what they are when someone sings about them.

Let's go with songs about someone who is just plain mean, bullying, criminal, villainous, or downright disgusting and unlikeable.  Lots of them are named in titles and lyrics!

The devil counts here, too, since s/he is very bothersome to so many singers and songwriters, and certainly fits into the category.

I'll start off with:

The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde - Georgie Fame

Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts: Dylan (Big Jim owns the town’s only diamond mine, cheats on his wife Rosemary, is having an affair with Lily and is described as taking anything he wants and laying it all to waste. Not a nice guy, he gets it in the end...or more precisely, in the back).

Wedding List (Kate Bush)

"All of the headlines said 'Passion Crime
'Newlyweds Groom Shot Dead
Mystery Man.' God help the bride
She's a widow, all in red
With his red still wet. She said--
'I'll put him on the wedding list'"

Everybody Loves Me (Don McLean)

"Yes, and the ocean parts when I walk through, and the clouds dissolve and the sky turns blue
I'm held in very great value by everyone I meet but you
'cause I've used my talents as I could, I've done some bad, I've done some good
I did a whole lot better than they thought I would so, c'mon and treat me like you should!"

Okay, it's an instrumental, not a song, but I still wouldn't want to be under a stay at home order with him.      Frankenstein - Edgar Winter Group
