SONG TITLES and SONGS about DISTANCES & TRAVEL

I'll try to get this topic started with these song titles about DISTANCES/TRAVELING   ...........

*Travelin' Man     Ricky Nelson   which made it to #1 in 1961

*I Ran (So Far Away)     Flock of Seagulls

For a different approach, songs about  DISTANCES/TRAVELING...........

*Walk Away Renee'     The Left Banke

*Ferry Across The Mersey     Gerry & The Pacemakers

Uh, I am sorry if I led off with songs which you may have wanted to post here. How about this....wait a while and then post it....or post it now ! You see, repetition is OKAY Man Wink

Please understand, there's lots of freedom and latitude with this topic. Be creative....let's have plenty of laughs and plenty of wows like:  "Wow, I wish I had thought of that one!!" "Wow, that's a good one!!

We've had songs about Paris ("April in", "I Love"). How about this one: "The Last Time I Saw Paris" from the movie of the same name. Here's Julie Andrews' version: https://youtu.be/mCp5LwGJgw4

Well, with this on the subject of Paris. It brings up the Left Banke. A village sort of like our Greenwich village in New York.. Full of bohemians, artists, rebellious sort near the university. And the name of the group that gave this tune.

"Walk away Renee" * The Left Banke

That's a good idea. It would be a fresh topic, not done in the past that I recall. Maybe expand "art forms" to include painters, sculptors, poets, writers, etc. to get more songs. It's easy to start. Just go to Rock N' Roll main page, click the yellow Start A Topic Button, enter info, and post. Voila!

MADE ME RECALL"AMERICAN PIE"- DON MCLEAN-"DROVE MY CHEVY TO THE LEVY..." WONDER IF CHEVY IS MOST MENTIONED CAR IN R & R? THE ONLY FORD I CAN THINK OF IS EAGLES-"TAKE IT EASY"& OF COURSE THERE'S "'OL 55"- TOM WAITS, COVERED BY EAGLES. BUT I DON'T THINK HE TELLS US WHAT MAKE. HE MENTIONS MERCURIES IN A COUPLE OF SONGS AS WELL. CARS= SONGS IN R & R A NEW CATEGORY? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

@I4832601: Songs mentioning cars would be fun. I did a little research. I found links that showed: At least 11 songs that mention "Chevy" by name. And a Top 10 list of songs about the Corvette.

FORD& CEHEVY COMMON, CORVETTE A SUB-GENRE TOM WAITS MAY TRUMP IT W/ "MERCURY"& THEN OF COURSE THERE'S:"MERCEDES BENZ"-JANIS JOPLIN. I'M THINKING SONGS W/TRUCKS MAYBE TOO EASY & TOO NUMEROUS. BUT "DRIVING" AS A THEME WOULD GIVE US LOTS OF OPPORTUNITIES. TO START WITH:"CAR WHEELS ON A GRAVEL ROAD"- LUCINDA WILLIAMS;

@I4832601 I do not believe there is a s "Driving" ("Driving and Vehicles"?) Thread - start one; I'm in. Good call on Lucinda's song. Another one: "Driving My Life Away" - Eddie Rabbitt.
