Rock History Trivia Game

Anyone interested in playing Rock History Trivia?

This will be a little different, and maybe jog our memories at the same time, or maybe learn something you hadn't heard before. Just post a question, and the person who answers correctly gets to post the next question. Please do me the favor of checking your answer before posting, and look up answers are okay with me. If your memory is like mine, it can get a little sluggish at times!

First question (easy one):  In 1968, a chance meeting and jam session brought together the formation of what would become one of rock's most famous supergroups. Who are they?

Hint:  This trio released their first, self-titled, album in 1969 which went on to multi-platinum status, and are well known for their intricate vocal harmonies.

Yes, that's correct!

Story goes that they met up at someone's house in Laurel Canyon CA while Nash was there visiting girlfriend Joni Mitchell. He added a third harmony to what Crosby and Stills were singing and the rest is history. The term supergroup may have first been used to describe CSN as all three were well known artists from previous bands. However, journalists usually point to Cream as the original supergroup. CSN and Cream are usually the top two of almost every list of greatest supergroups.

@angeleyes64 - There doesn't seem to be any interest in creating a trivia game. Maybe it's just too time consuming to come up with Q&A's.

Anyway, I believe the answer to your question is - The Who.

At the time that I wrote this question, the answer was Michael Jackson's Thriller. It has now been surpassed by The Eagles with The Eagles Greatest Hits at 38 million, as announced by the RIAA today.
