I guess George Michael is the only fan vote that counted. I know that Willie is considered country, but how can you not have the oldest living hippie in the RnR HoF? I’m kinda glad that they chose him. He’s worked with rock stars and pop stars in the past, and has always invited rock bands to his Farm Aid benefit shows.

@BeatleloverKT - Agree with your list, especially some of my favorite snubs BOC, Steppenwolf, The Guess Who, Three Dog Night.
I would add Scorpions to this list as long overdue. They are known as “the ambassadors of rock” for good reason. They have been a touring band since their first album in 1972, and a world touring band for well over 40 years. They have traveled to over 80 countries (the band lost count), more than any other rock band ever, and still sell out concerts all over the world being one of the greatest live bands of all time. They have no less than three generations of fans, and have sold 75 to 100 million records worldwide.
Their core members, founder/composer/guitarist Rudolf Schenker, singer/lyricist/composer Klaus Meine, and lead guitarist/composer Matthias Jabs, have been together for about 45 years now.
They are presently in the third “retirement” tour. The first one began in 2010 for the Sting In The Tail tour ending Dec 2012. But the timing just wasn’t right, and realized they just weren’t ready.
They officially turned 50 in 2015, so they started their 50th anniversary “farewell” tour, but were still going strong in 2020 when Covid came along.
In 2022, they released their 19th studio album, Rock Believer and started their third “farewell” world tour. They probably won’t stop until they drop!
I rest my case! 🦂🤘💛😎

They have been eligible since 97 or 98, and have yet to be nominated. Only recently have some of the hard rock / heavy metal bands been voted in. The band has been asked about it, and they would be thrilled to get the recognition, but they also realize it may not happen due to the politics of the RnRHOF and the way that it’s run. That’s why so many people are turned off by it. Just look at your list, and that’s why.
The Scorps aren’t without honors. In 2009, they received the Echo Music Award (Germany’s “Grammy”) for Lifetime Achievement. In 2010, they received the World Music Rock Legends Award in Monte Carlo. In 2010, they were also inducted into the Hollywood Rock Wall of Fame. They have other Echo and World Music Awards, along with a lot of Gold and Platinum records on the wall.

Votes from me:
Willie Nelson (red-headed stranger)
Soundgarden (absolutely what the band name describes)
Cyndi Lauper (the sweetest voice of their generation)
Rage Against The Machine (enough said)
Warren Zevon (wait, not already there????? )
Great topic; thanks for it!
