PROTEST & REBELLION SONGS.."get it off your chest"
The only stipulation here is that the song should be commentary, controversial, expressing a rebellious, protesting "frame of mind"; generally, or speciffically, about society, culture, economics, wealth, poverty, politics, war, peace, relationships, etc, etc, etc.
How about some songs which, when you heard them, you thought, "Yeh, those lyrics tell it like it is!" or maybe you were offended by the controversial lyrics.
Your song selection may be from any time period in history and about any topic you choose, old songs and new songs.
Please be free to post protest & rebellion songs which either you agreed with or which "honked" you off.
Here is an opportunity to "Get it off your chest!" Go ahead and briefly include memorable lyrics of the song if you like [ if you remember 🙂 ]
To begin.....here's a protest song: Subterranean Homesick Blues Bob Dylan

"Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire
"When human respect is disintegratin',
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin',
And you tell me over and over and over again my friend,
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction."

I remember it, there was some consernation to the "Eve of Destruction" and that counter reactionary song was some of it. It didn't fare well for radio play and kinda faded away fast. I reckon the times and mood of the generation had something to do with it. Personally, it didn't bother me one way or other, I just didn't think musically it wasn't as good as PF Sloans tune.

@cm9889168 Thank you for sharing "Eve of Destruction". It reminded me of a similar song from several years later:

@TheGent2U Yes, I can see that.
How about the guy on the keyboard/organ? He plays it upside down?
Thanks for the link

@cm9889168 Keith played a piano solo at the California Jam while he, and the piano, rotated head over heels. He may have done that elsewhere, as well. During "Rondo" he would play his Hammond B-3 organ while riding it across the stage. He also held notes on the Hammond by jamming knives between the keys. Which does not do as much damage as you might think. But I had a friend who refused to see ELP. He liked the music, but hated the B-3 antics.

The Ballad of Ira Hayes - Johnny Cash. Ira was a member of the Pima Nation. He was also one of the 6 Marines who raised the American Flag on Iwo Jima. This song is about what happened to him after that. https://youtu.be/tvUi5yGjJbY
