PROTEST & REBELLION SONGS.."get it off your chest"

The only stipulation here is that the song should be commentary,  controversial, expressing a rebellious, protesting "frame of mind"; generally, or speciffically, about society, culture, economics, wealth, poverty, politics, war, peace, relationships, etc, etc, etc.

How about some songs which, when you heard them, you thought, "Yeh, those lyrics tell it like it is!" or maybe you were offended by the controversial lyrics.

Your song selection may be from any time period in history and about any topic you choose, old songs and new songs.

Please be free to post protest & rebellion songs which either you agreed with or which "honked" you off.

Here is an opportunity to "Get it off your chest!" Go ahead and briefly include memorable lyrics of the song if you like [ if you remember ๐Ÿ™‚ ]

To begin.....here's a protest song:     Subterranean Homesick Blues     Bob Dylan

Good song! The actual title is, believe it or not, "For What It's Worth" ๐Ÿ˜‰ Back in my college radio announcing days, it was one of our most requested songs for a good stretch of time.

@I4832601 - Yes, indeed "Hot Rod Lincoln" was. By the way, the songwriter, Charlie Ryan, released this as a single in 1955.

I may hate myself for this one, but it is both protest and travel. Don't like things here? Maybe you need to take your: Holiday in Cambodia - The DKs (warning on language).

@I4832601: For its time, "To Sir, With Love" was indeed rebellious. A black teacher in an all white school, in England, and one of his students has a crush on him. This was in 1967. For perspective, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner", also with Sidney Poitier, came out in 1967, too. Janis Ian released "Society's Child" in 1966. It charted in 1967 as well.
