๐Ÿ“ป Other Recordings Of The Originals!

(9 comments) Hello Everyone:

๐ŸŽถ  Over the years, I am hearing more of my oldies being reinvented and being played again on various media - radio, YouTube and so on...

Has anyone else noticed the same thing? ๐Ÿค”

Happy Sunday,

Nicole ๐Ÿ™ƒ

One that comes to mind is one that was a bit surreal:

I heard a Muzak version of Robin Trower's Too Rolling Stoned in a local grocery store... It was 'Muzakified', not the original version, but I was so surprised I got a little light-headed and had to just stop and soak it in for a moment.

...Call me narrowminded, but the first thing I thought was, "A song from Bridge of Sighs on the Muzak!?!?...Never thought I'd hear that".

Hello Nicole, Happy Monday! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Last year, Deep Purple (one of my favorite bands ever), released their album, Turning To Crime. It is made up of covers of old songs picked by each member of the band.

  1. 7 and 7 Is - Love
  2. Rockinโ€™ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu - Huey โ€œPianoโ€ Smith (Johnny Riverโ€™s cover was a 60โ€™s hit, of course)
  3. Oh Well - Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green tribute
  4. Jenny Take a Ride  - Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels
  5. Watching the River Flow - Bob Dylan
  6. Let the Good Times Roll - Ray Charles & Quincy Jones
  7. Dixie Chicken - Little Feat
  8. Shapes of Things - The Yardbirds
  9. The Battle of New Orleans - Lonnie Donegan / Johnny Horton
  10. Lucifer - Bob Seger System
  11. White Room - Cream
  12. Caught in the Act - instrumental medley of various tunes

You might also check out the topic โ€œGreat Covers Of Your Favorite Songsโ€.  Itโ€™s a topic that has been running for several years now, and we still post to it. Lots of good stuff there, including new covers as well as old ones.
