Now I'm off to listen to the album on Apple Music!!!
@BeatleloverKT - Absolutely! He can, and does, write songs out of even the most obscure subject matter! Have you played the album yet?
This one reminds me a lot of the original McCartney (1970) debut album in that it's more singer / songwriter in style. Some of the songs were short and unfinished, but musically, it is a beautiful album. The melodies and instrumentation are classic McCartney. And the technology back then made self production a lot more complicated than it is now.
The McCartney ii album was more experimental, and was a little too heavy on electronics (IMO) but still a good album. McCartney iii is collection of lovely songs that I enjoyed very much, and you get more of the classic Macca styled melodies with a lot of different influences going on.
Taking the three together, you have a collection that encompasses a wide range of technology, experimental styles, and the works of a musical genius that spans the decades. He is credited as being one of the most melodic songwriters of all time by the people who determine such things. I'd have to agree! I โค๏ธ his music!
Sean Lennon was only age 5 when his father was murdered. He had little or no knowledge of his father's English family. He went directly to one source who could help fill in some of the blanks . . . Paul McCartney.
