While riding a bike in New York City's Central Park I have passed the widow Yoko Ono at two different times; if I had stretched my arm out I could have touched her.

My personal philosophy is let celebs live their life in peace; any undo adulation is idolatry.

Have also seen Ric Ocasek of the band The Cars - twice: once while he and his wife Paulina Porizkova (= yeah that super model) were riding their bikes in Midtown Manhattan, NYC, she was dressed like a Town and Country cover shot, he was just in ordinary casual clothing (not the pro bike look).

Another time I saw him come out of the subway - he's 6 foot 4 inches tall and was singularly heads up of all around him. Not until I wrote this piece did I know/ remember he had died in 2019.

Non-musical celebs I have seen: Dr. Oz in NYC during a small healthy food festival. I did probably stare a few more times than I should have - 'it's like seeing a unicorn.'

Have seen JFK Jr (after he finally passed the law/ bar exams)- on Worth St. court building as he finally entered the side door, he took one quick look around behind himself.

Went on a random group bike ride with the brother of Henry Kissinger; and you can say he has similar looks and speech tones just like his famous

brother.

One celeb I would have liked met - is Karen Carpenter of the band The Carpenters. If I could have hugged her/ saved her from those thoughts that plagued her.  -->  Karen Carpenter - Wikipedia

Closest I've ever come to meeting a celebrity musician was passing Frank Zappa on an escalator.  He was going down, I was going up to the skywalk on my way to work (back when business attire was a suit and tie).  All I could do was wave and say, "Good morning Frank, I enjoyed your show last night,".

Not sure I could really meet any 'Celebrity', just their public persona.  It's probably such a necessity that it becomes second nature.

I met Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith, a well known country music performer.

He had a studio in my town and I attempted, as a member of my high school newspaper, to sell him an ad to support the high school paper. He was a millionaire at the time, but couldn't find a few bucks to buy an ad and support the paper.

He is most famous for having composed "Dueling Banjos", a memorable instrumental from the movie Deliverance.

I met Glenn Frey in the early 90's at a PGA Tour golf tournament in Los Angeles.  Too bad no cell phones back then for a selfie. 😊

I met Dave Murray of Iron Maiden in Las Vegas the night before the show in February 2016. We ran into him in the casino at the Luxor and we talked for a few minutes. He's the best!

I met Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover of Megadeth backstage before a show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 2010.

We had dinner at the same table with the members of Yngwie Malmsteen’s band before a show in 2017, but we didn’t know who they were until we saw them on stage later that night. 😆

I met Micky Dolenz of The Monkees at a casino bar a couple of years ago. It was kind of funny... I came out of the restroom to find him sitting on my barstool. We talked for a few minutes and then I left.

And I met Smokey Robinson in Las Vegas on my birthday in 1994. I gave him a rose and he gave me a kiss.

I'd like to meet Alice Cooper. And the rest of the guys in Iron Maiden. And Dave Grohl.

I grew up across the street from Peggy March whose real name is Margaret "Peachy" Batavio.

Also, went to North Penn High School with John Oates who was an all-state wrestler.

While I never actually met Bruce Springsteen, I did get to strum his guitar while playing "Born To Run" in Hershey, PA.

Most memorable  celebrity I ever met in a social setting, long after his 15 minutes of fame were up.  This guy was for real and this post just reminded me of our evening talking for hours - about his career, his personal Revelations, and most of all our mutual love of vaudeville and Tin Pan Alley music.  Sad and sweet, still arrived in a Rolls Royce to the party.  God Bless Tiny Tim.

Many decades ago my friend did promos and interviews for an underground rock station so I tagged along alot.  We were all so young!  Most impressive, given that point in time: Brian May, he was brilliant, witty, funny, and years later I found out he had an advanced degree in astrophysics, that explained it.  Never met any of the Beatles, they were long split up by then and I probably wouldn't have been given access. Who I would love to sit down with one on one George Harrison (RIP) , Albert Lee, Jimmy Page, David Grohl, and Willie Nelson, and for sure number 1 Weird Al, another genius imo

I have never had the pleasure to meet anyone personally, although I had some close calls lol
Would of been happy to meet any of those I saw in concert although on my bucket list would be: Fleetwood Mac, ELO, Moody Blues, Beach Boys, Hall&Oates, Madonna and of course, The Beatles 🎼
