Catch The Rainbow  -  Rainbow / Ritchie Blackmore

Nothing flashy, just a beautiful, melodic guitar solo for a great ballad. He didn’t write a lot of ballads back then, with Rainbow or Purple, but when he did, they were awesome. Just never understood why he didn’t like some of them.

Thankyou everyone for overlooking this horrible attempt at a drum solo.(had to put it here cos' there's no category for drum solos!!!)

I’m Just A Singer In A Rock And Roll Band - Justin Hayward / The Moody Blues  💛

He is an excellent lead guitarist as well as lead singer and composer. I think that is often overlooked. 🎸 🎶

From Paul McCartney's Band, Guitar Soloists:

Rusty Anderson for Let It Be, I Saw Her Standing There, Maybe I'm Amazed

Brian Ray for Get Back

I've enjoyed watching Paul McCartney concerts on YouTube for some time. His current band has been with him for about the last 20 years now. They do a great job of keeping Paul's Beatle music and Wings music, sounding very authentic. As we know, there aren't that many guitar solos found in those compositions, but they do an excellent job on songs that do have them.

I've heard Rusty Anderson play Let It Be a couple of ways, keeping the basic melody, but with touches of his own, and on a guitar much different than what George played, but it doesn't sound out of place. The 2002 (Back In The US) was outstanding and kept fairly close to the George version. Brian Ray plays Get Back very true to the original with a guitar that looks and sounds very much like George's guitar. Amazing job! Rusty's version on I Saw Her Standing There just rocks. It was in the 2008 concert in Kiev that I watched last night.

Both are considered outstanding guitarists in their own right. Of course, this is Macca's Band, and they'd have to be pretty darn good to be there! That includes Paul Wickens on keyboards and Abe Laboriel on drums. They aren't exactly household names (I had to look them up), but they are very recognizable on screen. Have really enjoyed listening to them all these years. Rock on, Macca Band!!

Still Loving You  -  Scorpions (Matthias Jabs)  💛

He makes the guitar bleed with the emotion that this song is all about. Chills!
Edit: That’s Rudolph Schenker on the intro and outro. There is another song on video where Matthias was playing harmony to the vocals. I’ll have to find that one. It was a beauty!
