FAVORITE INSPIRATIONAL MUSIC, LYRICS, QUOTES & SAYINGS
People listen to music for so many reasons. They listen to change a mood, to relieve a heart ache, to celebrate a season or an event, to pay tribute and honor, to relax, and just for enjoyment. There are songs for and about just about any and all events that you can think of.

@rc8149 - I like Toby Keith. He does a lot of work on behalf of charities, including Wounded Warriors Project. He has also made many trips to the Middle East to entertain the troops.
BTW - I read the background info on the song that you posted. He wrote it just 48 hours post the 9/11 attack. His father, a US Army veteran, had died in a car accident earlier that year. The song honored his father and his service. Bravo to you TK!

TO:
@MaVolta - Yes, just 2 days after the attack (911) he wrote this song.
It shows us how "American' he was to be so pumped up.........
I guese Toby could be the "new Bob Hope" for the shows he has done
over seas...
He has also brought women on stage from the audience and supprised
them with their husbands who just came back from the war area.
I agree with you, Bravo to you T.K.
@Epster - I have never heard of Paolo Nutini- So off I went on
Wikipedia... And then a trip to my favorite, You Tube -----
I first read the lyrics you posted, and then decided to listen to 'Iron
Sky' with the lyrics showing. It was such a powerful voice and
pounding lyrics, that I sat there and listened to it very attentively.
Thank you for opening up my ears to somebody new....
PEACE

@rc8149 Oh good, I'm glad you enjoyed that post.
Paolo's first album --he was 18 or 19-- was the typical boy wants girl stuff. His arresting voice got me despite the lollypop lyrics. 🙂 This more recent album, though, shows emotional and intellectual depth, which made me happy. Plus, it's the same arresting voice. 🙂
He's an Italian Scot.

"I Will Survive" is a hit song first performed by American singer Gloria Gaynor, released in October 1978. It was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris. A top-selling song after its initial release, it has remained a popular disco anthem, as well as being certified platinum by the RIAA.[1]
There are many kinds of strength.
The song's lyrics describe the narrator's discovery of personal strength following an initially devastating breakup. It received heavy airplay in 1979, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and on the UK Singles Chart on consecutive weeks. The song is also frequently recalled as a symbol of female strength and as a gay anthem.[2][3][4] In 2016, the Library of Congress deemed Gaynor's original recording to be "culturally, historically, or artistically significant" and selected it for preservation in the National Recording Registry.

I remember when that song came out. What a dance song that was.
I wonder how many people where thinking the same about changing
the locks and wanting the key back.
There is a commercial for Capital One credit card. It features Samuel
L.Jackson, Charles Barkley, Spike Lee and a cameo appearance by
Gloria Gannor. She was a fllight attendant. An of course the song was
"I will survive." I can not locate it. Any help in finding it, please let me
know. I checked with You Tube....
And you are right. There are many kinds of strengths. Amazing how
music makes us stand tall and fight for what we believe in.
Keep the faith and "we will all survive."
Excuse me for now. I need to look for my leisure suit and search for
that mirrowed disco ball. (lol)..... (Can I be heard in the background
singing "I will survive" ?? ) (lol again)...

@nyadrn - I Believe I Can Fly - That is a beautiful song. I don't know who R Kelly is, so I googled him. Now I understand the controversial aspect about him.

Yes. There have been others whose personal lives were not without controversy. But that song is beautiful. Thank you for checking it out and I am glad you liked it 😊

Another Sia tune on my training playlist. This one gets me pedaling FAST! 🙂
It's actually a David Guetta tune feat. Sia. No matter, it helps me get the most out of a workout. 🙂

(You're My) Soul And My INSPIRATION BY The Righteous Brothers
They are always a treat to hear them on the radio as you travel down the highway.
The harmony of their rich voices just can't be matched. Play on brothers, play on .

Margaret Becker Never For Nothing
You cried alone by the window
Over the love that you lost
You gave it all
Never counting the cost
Rain like tears beat on your window
Melting your heart to the floor
No love returned
And now you have less than before
It's never for nothing
When you love with no return
It's never for nothing
Light your candle in the darkness
'Cause it's never for nothing
Your friends say you're the fool
For loving with nothing to gain
But they can't see the reward
That you'll claim
So hold on to the holy promise (that says)
"No labor of love is in vain"
Precious tears are changed to jewels
In the rain
(Repeat Chorus)

Bryan Duncan Yes I Will
In my mind I'm like a kid in the corner
Where I argue with the devil 'til I've had my fill
When I start to believe all the lies that you're tellin' me
Sayin' I'll never make it, I say, "Yes I will"
Just like a bad tune stuck in your head forever
Over and over like the run of the mill
And with every chance that I have to do somethin' good
Here we go: "no you won't", "Yes I will"
I said wait!
(Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will)
Just a minute, said, yes I will!
(Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will)
Oh, and I said wait!
(Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will)
[scat singing]
(Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will)
Said, yes I will
(Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will)
With the war of words begun
And the battle for the mind is on
And, no you won't, yes I will
With the war of words begun
The battle rages on and on
No you won't, yes I will
Game over, you find no one to help, he says.
With bound determination you say, yes I will
You, you better pray cause you know what he's gonna say
Just keep repeatin', you say
(Oh yeah, yes I will!)
Wear it out, say it clear, keep it up
And if there is any doubt, a little louder, you say
Yes I will
He says you're nothing special, you got nothin' to offer
Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will
I said wait!
(Yes I am, yes I do, and yes sir, yes I will!)

Bryan Duncan God Knows
Think of love is a good thing
But what again if it's not?
Is the ladder for climbing
Or just whatever's on top?
Do I bury the hatred
Or with a shovel escape
Through the valley of shadow
Through the heart with a stake
God knows and I don't
What's good for me
Ready or not
Learn the hard way
The lesson never stops
Try to resist
This
Somethin's up you don't wanna miss
Ready or not
Learn the hard way
The lesson never stops
Try to resist
This
Somethin's up you don't wanna miss
Do I walk on the thin line
Just to prove that I'm right?
Am I tempted a third time
Just to see if I might
(Just to prove that I'm right)
If I pray am I askin'
That I should live without pain
Is the world for the taking
What will it be that I gain?
God knows and I don't
What's good for me
Ready or not
Learn the hard way
The lesson never stops
Try to resist
This
Somethin's up you don't wanna miss
Ready or not
Learn the hard way
The lesson never stops
Try to resist
This
Somethin's up you don't wanna miss
Lesson number one:
I don't know everything
[scat singing]
Lesson number two:
Only God is not lying to you
[scat singing]
Alright it goes, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah
We all stand in the dark and look through the blinding glass
(dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah)
Yeah, the directions in hand, but there's only one flashlight
(dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah)
And at some point you know what
Everyone else is just a little ill informed
All I'm sayin'!
That's all I'm tryin' to say!

Margaret Becker Keep My Mind
If wishes did come true
And dreams came to life
I'd get a hold of You
And never leave Your side
But in the black and white
I must live and breathe
I'll never capture You
But You could capture me
Chorus
Keep my mind on higher things
Keep my mind on truth
Keep my mind on the anchor of love
That I have found in You
Some steps my feet have taken
In hot pursuit
Have led me to some places
Far away from You
But if I had my way
If it were up to me
I'd chain myself to You
And throw away, throw away the key
(repeat chorus)
Every little thought
Every little dream
Every little thinking part of me
All about You
I wish they'd be
Keep my mind
Keep my mind
Keep my...
(repeat chorus)

Is a place that I know well
It's the distance between us
And the space inside ourselves
And emptiness....
Is the chattering in your head
It's the call of the living
And the race from life to death
Woa and I know
Yes and I know
What you feel...

Christina Aguilera Beautiful
Don't look at me
"Every day is so wonderful
Then suddenly it's hard to breathe.
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, I'm so ashamed.
I am beautiful no matter what they say.
Words can't bring me down.
I am beautiful in every single way.
Yes, words can't bring me down... Oh no.
So don't you bring me down today."

Ace of Base Beautiful Life
" You can do what you want to, just seize the day
What you’re doing tomorrow’s gonna come your way
Don’t you ever consider givin’ up, you will find, oh
It’s a beautiful life, oh oh
It’s a beautiful life, oh oh
It’s a beautiful life, oh oh
I just wanna be here, beside you
And stay until the break of dawn"
