Guitar, self taught.. I had an old guitar given to me and decided to try and learn how to play.. That was over 50 years ago.. I'm still not very good but I've enjoyed the process of learning and use it as therapy to this day.. A dark quiet room, get comfortable and trust my hands to take me where ever i want to go..
I took piano lessons between the ages of 10 and 15. I would practice, but never very good at it. Finally gave up! I think everyone was relieved, to be honest! My dad tried to teach me to play guitar. and how to play chords. I never could hold my hands in the correct position. I can still play piano a little, but you wouldn't want to hear me! ๐
At least I learned to read music. I joined the school choir for junior high and high school, and sang in a folk-pop group my senior year. That was fun! You probably wouldn't want to hear me sing now though! But I do sing in the car and when no one is around to hear me. ๐

@Anonymous - Don't feel bad, I had to look it up, also! Looks like a wooden whistle, similar to a shawm. Shawms, I know about, recorders, not so much! ๐คฃ
