@nyadrn - Thanks for the link. I voted for my faves and 3 are presently top vote getters (Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, and Moody Blues).  Surprised to see that this is a first time nomination for Moody Blues . . . talk about oversight!

Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine Lead the List of Rock Hall Nominees for the Class of 2018

It’s rare that rock acts receive nominations into the Rock Hall during their first year eligibility. But this year’s list of nominees includes two bands — Radiohead and Rage Against the Machine — that have done just that.

Given that their 1997 album OK Computer stands as one of the best albums of the '90s, Radiohead seems like a shoe-in for induction.

Per usual, the list of nominees also includes a number of acts the Rock Hall has overlooked. Bon Jovi, Kate Bush, the Cars, Dire Straits, Eurythmics, J. Geils Band, Judas Priest, LL Cool J, MC5, the Meters, Moody Blues, Rufus Featuring Chakan Khan, Nina Simone, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Link Wray and the Zombies have been eligible for years.

To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of induction.
Nine out of 19 of the nominees (Eurythmics, Dire Straits, Judas Priest, Kate Bush, the Moody Blues, Nina Simone, Radiohead, Rage Against Machine and Sister Rosetta Tharpe) are on the ballot for the first time.

Bon Jovi fans to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame voters: Put them in

Every October, like pumpkin picking time, it happens. Bon Jovi gets snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Despite selling 130 million of records, selling out tours around the world and having “Livin’ on a Prayers” blasted at football and baseball stadiums during games, the guys of Bon Jovi just don’t get the votes from Rock Hall voters.

It’s been that way since 2009.

GoldDerby.com, a web site which predicts winners of the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and other awards, posted a fan poll on who should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Monkees were initially declared the winner, but a strong surge by Bon Jovi put the Jersey rockers on top.

“Last week, we reported our poll results that you want The Monkees inducted next into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But hold on! Thousands more have voted in the past few days, and Bon Jovi is now your top selection as the most criminally snubbed band waiting for induction,” wrote Chris Beachum of Gold Derby.

More than 4,700 music fan voted. The results were:

Bon Jovi  (35 percent of the vote)
The Monkees (26 percent)
Three Dog Night (11 percent)
The Moody Blues (8 percent)
 The Doobie Brothers (5 percent)
Boston (4 percent)
Dire Straits (4 percent)
The Cars (2 percent)
Styx (2 percent)
The Commodores (1 percent)
Foreigner (1 percent)
Steppenwolf (1 percent)
