...A BAND ON THE ROCKS - Excerpt #2 (Rolling Stones)

(From "BABYSITTING A BAND ON THE ROCKS" - available at Newbury Comics locations throughout the Northeast and online at > Webstore > Books).

"Somewhere along the way Keith and I ended up singing “Only the Lonely” by Roy Orbison, but for the life of me I can’t tell you why. I also can’t confirm one hundred percent that that was the tune; all evening I had been matching his Bushwhackers with my own overflowing martinis. But when he broke into song I couldn’t resist joining him, so I instantly leaned in to accompany his serenade to the bartender, two drunk buddies bent over the bar crooning like a pair of pining dogs. After all, how many people can say, “I once sang with Keith?”
