@orangedk

Hello Orangedk,

I've been trying continuously  to get the limit increased to donate points to Foundation to help struggling seniors to no avail.

Remember to leave the Quantity at (1).  Here is the direct link for August donation https://rewards.aarp.org/#/department/product/aarpPFCAugust18

Glad you want to donate too!

Have a Blessed Day,

Marylin

Since we are running out of time to use our points, increase the number of items we can bid on and win in the auctions.  Some of us have been saving our points up for a long time, not knowing all the sudden the program would change, and we needed to hurry and use them or loss them.  Also, please make sure the donate points link is working.  I couldn't find a way to do that either

That is an unacceptable answer I would expect from a mid level manager froma fortune 500 company. Unfortunately most of your members are not retired millionairesd though you would think that based on the culture and corporatism that AARP projects on its web sites. WE will turn this site upside down until the jerks at the top listen to us. Our points are NOT going to expire , your organization is going to stopo dictatingf tom us and instead listen to what we have to say. Otherwise you are just one more bureaucratic layer of irrelevance to the capitalist dictatorship we all live under.

Less pillow talk and more positive action is required to correct this and many other issues that AARP has been obstructive force for NOT good. It is anbout time AARP stiop acting as alobbyist for a sanitized corporate view of seniors and get your hands direty in fighting to expand  social security and Medicare and make sure working seniors get a LIVING wage. to me that is a lot more than $15 an hour. A more comprehensive Medicare for ALL program should be pushed for in all 50 states until the crescendo of our voices drowns out the corporate  Democrat and Republican politicians who are fast to take their fat envelopes from  Wall Street and send off our kids to fight wars for oil that benefit Exxon-Mobil and BP, but wreak mass murder and hatred throughout the world.   I am in this for the long haul. Until this organization rolls up its sleeves and starts fighting along side working class seniors, I will be relentless in the pursuit of positive changes here.

"We are adding new opportunities to the auctions"

1)  There are only about six auctions per point level category added/completed each day.  If there are four point levels for auctions it means only 24 individuals (max) are successful in using their points each day.  That means that each month approximately 720 auctions are completed and over three months approximately 2160 auctions are completed.  One of the R4G quizzes indicated that there are 12 million participants in the R4G program.  From this observation, it appears that over 11,997,840  participants will not be able to win an auction and thus lose their points.

2) From what I observed, Daily Deals (for gift cards) are selling out just as fast as ever.

3) Most merchandise in the Rewards Catalog requires a cash outlay.  In some cases hundreds of dollars.  Many items can be purchased at the same cost, if not less, elsewhere.

Suggestions:

1) Add hundreds of new auctions each day in each point level category.

2) Sell some merchandise in the Rewards Catalog for points only.

3) Add even more points only gift cards to the Daily Deal so it lasts more than 2 seconds.

4) Add larger denomination gift cards to the Daily Deal so participants can use up their points.

5) Add additional, useful gift cards to the Rewards Catalog such as Walmart, Amazon, fuel.

@JaneL69

Thank you for input and insightful post.  We know the transition to the new program is difficult for some of our participants.  We want to provide you with enough time (3 months) to be able to redeem the points you’ve earned before the Rewards for Good ends in September.

Unused Rewards for Good points’ balances will not carry over to AARP Rewards to allow us to introduce a new point earning and redeeming structure. Learning will continue to remain the focus of the new program and you will be able to earn points when you complete activities as you do today. The Rewards for Good program requires points to make all purchases. With AARP Rewards you will have the option to use points only.  AARP Rewards will also offer more ways to earn including videos, more fitness trackers and activities, including swimming and cycling.

We have increased the quantity of cards available for the Daily Deals and also increased the quanity of Points Only Daily Deals

Local deals are listed at https://rewards.aarp.org/#/localdeals?_k=ihjvm7

We have always had the same program with the AARP Rewards for Good utilizing a discount on many items using points.

We are adding new opportunities to the auctions and there are also sweeps that users can enter.

This program hasn’t changed any of the processes that have been in place since it’s inception, we are just adding additional opportunities now since the points will not be transferring over.

@JaneL69

Good post.  Summarized a lot of what has been said on the forum (much of which has been dismissed by AARP), along with some of your new ideas.  Thanks for taking the time to write this up.
