Save what you can when you can.  Enjoy your family and friends, but be careful not to overspend.  be careful work doesnโ€™t ruin your health or take a toll on your family by working too many hours.  This one isnโ€™t original but affects me, unless you want to hear eeeeeeee 24/7 where hearing protection when around loud noises

1 comment (1) Social Security will NOT be around.

(2) There is NO company loyalty, so stay on top of job skills so you can jump to another job quickly.

(3) Live below your means and save even if just a $1 during those times of "surprise" expenses like the car or health. That is $1 towards your old age.

(4) Live a healthy life, old age has a way of showing all the abuses and addictions from our youth. No need to add to our aching old bodies unnecessarily.

(5) Set up "multiple" passive incomes when possible. It is always awesome sitting back and watch this work for you.

Here's my suggestions:

(1) Consider government work as it is one of the last vestiges of employers that have defined retirement pensions.

(2) Work for the required amount of years to earn full benefits.

(3) Work for government agencies that enable you to contribute to the Social Security system in addition to your pension plan.

(4) Many government employers will also pay for your health benefits in retirement up until the time you qualify for Medicare.

(5) Move to a state that doesn't tax retirement benefits.
