Krispy Kreme Gift Card

Buyer beware when purchasing Krispy Kreme donuts with a gift card. My local Krispy Kreme store charges a $2.00 service fee for using a Krispy Kreme gift card even though the gift card clearly states there are no service charge fees associated with the card. I called the Krispy Kreme corporate office to inquire about the service fee and was told Krispy Kreme stores are franchises, and each store can set their own rules when accepting gift card payments. There are other family owned donut shops in my area that have better tasting donuts for less the price. FYI: My local Krispy Kreme store charges $15.99 for a dozen of original glazed donuts, plus $2.00 service charge if using a gift card.

I agree, it would be nice to see some higher value gift cards for members only. I don't understand why the Rewards program is opened to non-members. There was a big membership drive recently, so there was an opportunity for non-members to become members.

Top of the morning to you JoLo. I suspect that AARP.org has pretty much left the running of this rewards program to you know who, and has turned a blind eye to everything that is going on. All this administrator is interested in is profit, and if they can entice or cajole people with cheap luggage & tote bags to join, than that works to their advantage. There really is no benefit to being a paid member in this rewards program. So what if these non-paying members can only earn 5000 points per day, they still can earn unlimited points and suck up most of the few points only gift cards
Just Saying.

Good evening, @rednexsrus ,
It's unfortunate non-members are allowed to participate in the program. The only benefit of having non-members is that more people are accessing the site, and it's good for advertising. The program needs to be re-evaluated to reward the paying members with better benefits (higher value "points only" GC's), and allow the non-members to have the lower value GC's. JMHO
