Free Method isn't Working

Hello Community,

 

I've used (5) different browsers to use the "Free Entry Method" in Redeem section to no avail.  I keep getting a Error message asking to refresh page on every browser with my login.

Is anyone else having this problems?

 

@sandycould you please help?

What is up with your emails?

I have had trouble getting newsletter emails, sometimes for a couple of months at a time.

But, I almost never have trouble getting notice when I am "tagged." 

So, your it!!!

Have you reported the issue to the authorities?

Funny that I just now saw your post tagging me

show up in my last check of my email, before I was going offline.

 

So it’s an ongoing & known issue...no help would be forthcoming...

Another friend, on another forum I go to regularly said “Like @Therapist4u, I never get any notices that things have been posted here anymore...” And it happens to you on certain things...but you get other ones...seems different for everyone I’ve talked to.

 

But to me...one of the most valuable ones I’m not getting regularly anymore is Re: LATEST AVAILABLE POINTS ONLY! as there’s so few decent GCs ...& as you know, quickly sell out!

I just happened to see your post to me...from almost 2 weeks ago...what’s happening AGAIN...is I’m not getting most of my AARP emails...so if you or someone else tags me lately, I’ll not know it!, ...& that means it will leave many messages unanswered!!...but a late reply is better than nutin!

That's great and thanks for sharing!

 

And, like you, I get a "We're Sorry" screen on my first try of an instant win

via this method each day (this is not unusual), but, then I wait a minute or two and

refresh and then it lets me through.  After the first try I don't get an error

screen.  So, today another 7 free entries for me and it appears to be fixed.

 

I hope it the Free Entry Method continues to work for others.

Free Method is working as of 3-22 Friday and.... 

 

Saturday 3-23  after getting the usual 'error' on first try and then 'this Instant Win is not available' I tried for the third attempt and got:

( it's a simple text message - no slot machines/ no 'three-card monte' ) 🤔

Glad to hear the free method to play the Instant Wins is fixed and working.  I play the Instant Win games using my points, however, today points were taken, and I wasn't able to play 2 of the slot games.   I got the dreaded error message,  "taking longer than usual, but transaction is confirmed".  When I reloaded the game to play, it said I already played.  My points were taken, and I didn't get to play 2 of the games.  I probably would have lost either way.  I hope AARP can fix the loading errors, but I really wish AARP will abandon the slot games and go back to the old Instant Win games.  The slot games take longer to load, and sometimes with errors, in addition to all of the visual discrepancies to win.  I much prefer the older Instant Win games with the "Lucky You" message.

It appears to be working again.

I just completed 7 Free Entries!

They got it fixed before the weekend and

that is appreciated, @AARPConsumerCare Team!

The Free Entry Method for instant win games is not working again.

 

I just keep getting the same error pictured below.

This has been a website issue from time to time.

Same message on two different browsers (Chrome

and Edge) on a laptop.

Please pass on the problem to someone who

may be able to fix it.

The "free" method has never worked for me using Mac or Windows computers with Firefox or Chrome browsers.  The message,   " An error has occurred"  and "Refresh the browser to get back on track" always comes up, so to save time and frustration, I always spend/waste my points on the Instant Win games.

This is a second confirmation. ☹️

 

Update: 3-22 Friday - the free method of entry is working, ... again.       😎

 

     With the current problems with the Instant Win/ slot machines and now - starting today the 'free method' is also not working. Using my home pc and and an outside 'library' pc - the 'free method' errors out ( even with adblocker off and allowing third-party cookies - no go/ no joy).

      It's hard enough seeing the infernal "sorry, you didn't win...again...and again..." when I usually play the free method entry - but now I will have to lose points when I play with the 'one armed bandit' - give me a break. 😖

Too bad but the Marriot instant win ended yesterday the 28th.

It never got fixed to my knowledge.

 

"Timing: The Instant Win Game begins on February 26, 2024 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") and ends on February 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the "Promotion Period"). Administrator’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Instant Win Game."

Instant Win link is still not working. From the rules or from any link in this topic.

The instant win game rules link leads me to a screen that states I have already

played today.

 

However, the new one-armed bandit game on the redeem screen will allow me to play today for 500 points, as I had to enter yesterday evening.

 

So from the rules link as shown here:

Using the rules, I end up with a message that I have already played displayed here:

However, I have not played because this tile on the Redeem page allows me to enter via points while the other instant win games listed on the Redeem page tells me that I have already played today.  The image of the Marriot game showing that I can enter with points follows:

I think we give the moderators too much information and it is hard to filter out the problem, however, my hope is that this information can be forwarded to IT to get it fixed, maybe.  If we don't give you enough information for IT, then, they may not be able to understand the problem and fix it.

The link to the Marriot Instant win from the official rules gives an error

message shown below.  The rules allow for a free entry method, so, it should

work. But, all I have gotten since the start of the day is "This instant

win is not available."

 

Any help getting this fixed before we lose a day is much appreciated.

It only lasts a few days.
