Re: You Know You Are A Baby Boomer Because...
The closer I get to 65-the more information I search on retirement and each day I get up to go to work, I take stock and have realized that financially, it would be better for me to retire than to continue to work every 2 weeks collecting a paycheck.
There are so many things I missed out on during my career. I think people do not realize how much we work each day and how much of our lives are taken up by working hard and although I am grateful for having a great job, physically most of us know when to move forward and move on.

Re: You Know You Are A Baby Boomer Because...
I remember playing hop scotch and jumping rope and climbing the big tree in our backyard. I remember having a big glass kool-aid container like the one on TV and my mom always had some waiting in the fridge after school. Mom worked, but there was always a full home-cooked meal on the table every night and we all ate together. It was nice.

☮ You know all of the words to every song that plays
on the *oldies* radio station and it feels as though
you are still in high∙school as you sing along to them ☮

Re: You Know You Are A Baby Boomer Because...
I really enjoyed reading all of the responses, and so many good memories from childhood. I also remember -
- Saturday morning cartoons, Roy Rogers, The Lone Ranger
- Comic books, Blondie and Dagwood comic strip
- We played outdoors and used our imagination (like a mopstick horse)
- Peddled the bicycle uphill without gears
- Sunday evening was Ed Sullivan and Bonanza
- News was either Walter Cronkite or Huntley-Brinkley
- Had to read all the tv/movie/music "gossip" magazines
- Your parents told you about the Great Depression and how bad things were then and how lucky you are now
- Dad made a living and mom stayed home to cook, clean, and sew our clothes
- Bought ice at the ice house
- Mom made homemade ice cream and dad handcranked the ice cream churn
- Your phone had a party line, and you only had to dial the last 4 numbers
- In high school, our skirts had to touch the floor when we knelt down on our knees
- You read the original Ann Landers and Dear Abby columns
- Saw the re-release of Gone With the Wind at the drive-in movie
- There was an ice cream shop and candy store
- Ate at the drug store soda fountain
- Gas was cheap, drove our cars up and down the main drag to see who was out with whom
- Ditto on most of what everyone else has mentioned
Thanks @AARPTeri for an interesting topic.

If you were old enough to do a walking tour of sunny Southeast Asia but not yet old enough and allowed to vote. You must be a boomer.

Hey I was a real hippy. And now I am a faux hippy... Just protesting the latest war to sell guns.
At least the tie dye is easier. You can buy them, at the store now.
Peace!
