These are words I remember my grandmother and mother using when I was young, and the only time I hear them now is when I am talking to an elderly relative. Since I am elderly myself, the relatives I speak of are ancient!

bobby pin(s)

step-ins (these are called panties today)

what-not(s)

dish pans are non existent in today's world

chamber pot

slop jar

tin, as in tin roofs

outhouse

pin curled

tatting

I'm sure with some time I could come up with many more, but these are a few that came to mind immediately!

"Dressed to the 9s", swanky.

We still use the CC and BCC in e-mail, but it does stand for "carbon copy" and "blind carbon copy" .. while we haven't used "carbon paper" for copies in many years. So there's an expression whose usage has evolved to keep up with technology.

Okey-Dokey, the cat's pajamas, swell (adjective).

Then there are all the words young people are just too lazy to bother saying. So Rachel Ray refers to "Sammies", because "Sandwich" is too long for her, people refer to a "Vaca", because "Vacation" takes too much effort, and now we "Dis" things meaning we don't respect them. And it's way too much trouble to say someone's entire first & last name or individualize members of a couple, so we have JLo, JLaw, JHud, Beniffer, and Brangelina.

You asked for words or phrases you don't hear today,

One that comes to mind is "Be That As It May",

And as the switch in my brain is quickly toggled,

Another phrase that comes to mind is "I'll be hornswoggled".

If it isn't phrases you want but you want a word,

A good one would be a more recent "Nerd",

I'll end this word and phrase poem by sitting pretty,

And finish this exercise which you may call a "Ditty".

Words that are no longer used today...

There are a lot of words that you rarely hear any more.  My mom used the word dungarees - and her grandchildren asked what is that.  It made me realize there are a lot of words we don't use any more.

Here are a few....  add your's to the list.

kibosh

padiddle

pinning for someone

horsefeathers...
