I live in Maine and on Cape Cod, and I assure you that there are plenty of clam diggers!

And ,yes, I wore them in the '60's - like Capris now but called clamdiggers then..tourquise and white checked!

Another phrase used often growing up was " TAKE YOUR TIME, BUT BE QUICK.ABOUT IT" My posts are making my grandmother a real, " Chatty Cathy".

REDS UNDER THE BEDS, anyone who grew up in the 50'S, or our parents did,must remember this phrase. I always thought my parents meant the crayons where hidden under the bed.

My mother would always say." BOOB TUBE" When we where watching too much tv!! Does any one remember when tv's where a giant piece of furniture?  These old tv's had Large TUBES, which required a service man to replace!!. Boy have we come a long way! I ofen wonder what President Washington would think about the advances this country has made.

 You have filled in the blanks from my youth. " Turnip Truck" means stupid. See my grandmother raisied 7' children, she would also.say "'I just TAKE in the information and Don't say a Word"
