1969 Road Runner bought from the people that live next door. It was factory stock but did have a 383 V8 and a 4 speed on the floor. Over time I built the engine up and added a Hurst 4 speed transmission and painted from white to blue. Fun car for a teen. My favorite car was my second car, a 1970 Ford Ranchero with a 351 Cleveland motor, again over time built the motor up and added a camper shell, had that car for 10 years and alot of great times in it. I wish I still had it. It was in perfect condition when I sold it after ten years.

My uncle gave me my first car in 1976.  1970 Opel GT. Bright yellow.  4 speed.  Loved that car.  My grandfather told me if I couldn't learn to fix it, I couldn't drive it.  By the time I wrecked my baby, I could take it apart and put it back together blindfolded.  Really miss that car.  Thanks Pa for teaching me (your granddaughter) how to fix my own vehicle.

1973 Triumph Spitfire. Pimento red. I paid $3000 new plus $50 for the radio.  Fun, fun car and really fast. I loved racing the boys.

1956 Ford black 4 door Crown Victoria, V8, stick shift.  Got it in 1958 and sold it in 1960 when I enlisted in the Air Force.  Great car.  Second was a new1961 VW beetle, I believe it was around $1500.  Amazing, could not kill that car.

I turned 16 in 1963 and got my first car - a 1952 Desoto.  Unlike today's cars it was made of rolled steel, heavy and solid.  Built like a tank, it took a bit to get up to speed, but once it got rolling it was a smooth and fun ride!  Lots of room inside, too.  They definitely don't make cars like they used to.  Smiley Happy)

Used Black 55 Ford custom, 2 door, V8, stick shift, dual glasspac exhausts. Sold it to pay for honeymoon.  Best car dollar for dollar was a 1968 Volkswagon square back bought new for about

$2500 had over 240,000 miles on it when speedometer broke.  Sold it for $300 about 1986 when

battery fell out thru floor board unto garage floor.  Could take the car any where even in snow into

corn fields.  Great little car.

A graduation gift from my parents, it was a 1970 Ford Maverick.  An interesting color, not quite maroon, not quite burgundy, I called it maroogundy.  It was a great car.  You just don't see Mavericks anymore.

1958 Chevy Nomad Wagon.  Bought it for $100 but had to replace the clutch.  First time I worked with my dad on anything.  After a few months I started modifying it with parts from "Midnight Auto Supply", stolen parts.  In my defense I was pretty innocent at the time and didn't realize my friend was into that sort of thing.  I just knew the parts were cheap!

Got my first car in the summer of 1959... a 1951 Chevy stick shift. Unfortunately it got a low score on the Cool Scale as it was a 4-door. My folks bought it for me for my upcoming senior year for $100. It had 75,000 miles on it and I drove the heck out of it and put about 25,000 miles on it over two years.

It was undoubtedly the best bang-for-the-buck car purchase I ever was involved with! No major repairs and a new set of rubber over the hard two years.
