Loose Llama's Life on the Lam Reaches Limit

Message 1 of 1

I thought about posting this to @DaveMcK's Funny Stories thread, but maybe this is the better placement.

Anyway, llamas. Heh, they are always and forever jailbreaking and skedaddling over yonder hill. We've helped round them up a number of times while hiking one of our open space parks. Three times to be exact. And no, not from the same farm, either. Llamas, it turns out, are talented escape artists.  Smiley Happy This is a story of a local llama that spent months on the lam.

Footloose llama captured after months on the run

A bad-tempered llama that has been scaring horses since late summer in the Bobcat Ridge Natural Area northwest of Loveland has been captured.

The city of Fort Collins Natural Areas Department tweeted a photo of the spotted animal Sunday morning with the message:  “The elusive stray Llama wandering Bobcat has been captured. Thanks to all of you who were on the look out, and those who offered to help.” The department also posted the photo and message on its Facebook page.

In mid-October, hikers reported seeing the light-brown llama with black spots near Mahoney Park in the natural area. Fort Collins Natural Areas officials said the animal had been roaming the open space for about three months, and they were using social media at the time to try to find its owners.

The llama spooked horses and behaved aggressively toward some humans, officials said.
