I was attending a meeting in a private home of a woman and her family I didn't know.

At one point we were asked to donate towards a fund for a poor family for Christmas. I openly apologized that I coldn't. I was divorced raising my two sons alone, no family in the area, and living on less han $6800 a year. I was forced to rent a room which helped slightly. At end of meeting, we were all given an envelope, a list of where future meetings would be held and topic of talks. I opened my envelope when I got home to find $50 in it! All went to food. Years, years later when sons grew up and my finances improved I was able to send $50 to someone who was in dire need and assist others. It was a good feeling to pay back.
